But, but, but I don't want to! I really want to hook right now, not hoop!

Umm Hook huh..well darling with the twisted humor here hope you make lots of money for supplies in your hooking adventure Wink Cheesy
Actually, I'm hooking FOR supplies... Play with that one if you want.

jexxican - if you want to hook and you actually do hook...  does that make you a hook.... er?
Proud and Happy hooker yes!

Sorry about your gma. But you can't experience happy without knowing sad, no? (Butters taught us all that, aha. Cookies if you get the reference!)

Idlers- That's beautiful! I'm pretty sure spinning before you wash is called "spinning in the raw" and seeing a video about that is one of the things that got me interested in spinning in the first place. I've already decided that when I get my 3 fleeces in May (fingers crossed) that one of them I am going to spin in the raw, then maybe try using a knitting loom to make some over-sized hats, then washing them to felt. I am excited!

I have started 2 yarns this week, one of the spindle and one on the wheel, but I think I will wait until I think they are done before I post them.
Last weeks yarn that I spun with the yellow even though I wanted to spin it with balck, I think I may ply again with black, because I realized that I DO have black, I have 4 serger cones full of black! I was an idiot to overlook them.

But my real accomplishment this week was 26 more bumps of cleaned fleece. Here is a shot of all 35 I have done this month. I will post more about them in the CAL.

I bought a trio of books on Amazon. Respect the Spindle, something about spinning in general, and a hand dying book. I know I don't need the first 2 since I already know all the basics and I can always gather more info online (my favorite resource of late being Crafster, those spinners are crazy!) but I wanted some good resource books.

HOLY CRAP! In the time it took me to write this post there have been 4 other posts!
TCMatteson: I know what you mean about slippery roving. The stuff I have on my wheel right now is a merino/bamboo blend. Talk about slippery! It wants to be spun thin, I can't get it any thicker!
Belladune, you are always an inspiration to me. You know that, right?

Have I checked in here this week? I know I've been reading most of it. Is it bad though, if I skip a couple pages?

Finally found the perfect finishing touch for my design, now I just need to get them started! But, but, but I don't want to! I really want to hook right now, not hoop!
3104  FIBER ARTS / Spinning: Discussion and Questions / Re: Corespinners -- where do you buy your core yarn? on: March 09, 2011 08:31:01 AM
A friend of mine has an ebay store and she found some cones of [thread?] [yarn?] [something somewhere in between] and was asking me what I thought it would be used for. Looking back on it I think they might be great for core spinning since you're not usually supposed to see the core, right? I should ask her about them again. Maybe I will get a cone and if it works then I will find out her store and let you know?
3105  ORGANIZED CRAFT SWAPS / The Swap Gallery / Re: Great Big Swirlie Swap Gallery on: March 08, 2011 03:57:15 PM
I told my dad he had to buy the David Tennant seasons so I could watch. He's definitely drool-worthy!
What?! NO he's not! I just did a Google image search for that name and no, his nose is crooked. No drooling in the good sense of the word here!

Astor, I like your orange. What size niddy noddy do you have?
I'm thinking of getting a booth at the "farmer's market" this year and trying to sell some yarn along side this $1,000 worth of Wildtree food that I have sitting in my living room.
Yup, still combing!

Honestly, I'm being really broad about what posts qualify.  Pictures are awesome, but not necessary. Basically, just posting twice a week with "I'm here and still working on my stuff" is totally sufficient.  Wink

I'm just bribing you guys into keeping me company, is all...
How about if I post EVERY day? Or multiple times a day? Do I get extra entries?! Just kidding. I don't think I will have a problem getting my 8 progress posts in this month, though. Even if I don't win anything, I really like these threads. They let me talk about things I can't talk about with anyone else! Except maybe now... I finally grew some balls and called the lady about the local fiber guild!! She seemed really excited to hear from me. Apparently it's not that big, but they meet the first Monday of each month, meaning they will meet this Monday (but she won't be there because she has another obligation.) I am so excited! I think I will make this red!

Obviously, you don't need to bribe me to keep you company. I love it!

Jets to July, I love that purple bump. And your hat came out so cute! I found the number for the lady who is in charge of the Fiber Guild here, which consists of 5 people, but have yet to call her. Maybe I should do that today.

Muppy, I love your blue! I know what you mean about the sparkles not showing up in pictures, though, it really is hard to get good shots of sparkle. My yarn this week is supposedly really sparkly too but you can't tell in the photo.

There are so many yarns this week! I am so happy. Thank you all for feeding my need. I am working on a parody of a song that gets stuck in my head every time I think of my fiber addiction. Hopefully it will be done by next Friday?
