1  Cord skirt with leaf applique in Clothing: Completed Projects: General by squirrelbythesea on: November 16, 2012 06:31:15 AM
Drafted from scratch as an A-Line skirt. First made a poplin sloper, which became the underskirt. I added a row of broderie Anglaise at the hem to the same length as the cord skirt. The appliques I just basted on by hand then machine appliqued.

2  Felt-lined phone case with frog closure in Purses, Bags, Wallets: Completed Projects: General by squirrelbythesea on: December 13, 2011 02:20:14 AM
I made this with some print fabric I bought at Colonial Williamsburg and red felt lining.

The frog closure is crochet, and based on the tutorial here: http://crochetbyfaye.blogspot.com/2009/05/do-you-frog.html

3  My first crochet project - a small bear in Amigurumi: Completed Projects by squirrelbythesea on: August 29, 2009 11:14:55 AM

I decided to teach myself to crochet, so a couple of days ago I bought some wool and this was my first project. I used the pattern from Rheatheylia http://www.rheatheylia.com/index.php?page=patterns&id=2

My first attempt I was pulling the stitches too tight so he came out a bit microcephalitic (I frogged that one when I got part-way into the body). The wool I bought is aran weight and I don't think it's as thick as the one the pattern was intended for (I can't get Lion Jiffy here). I'm going to try again with some fatter wool and see how that comes out.
