So way back when I posted I then became all interested in the plague doctor, spent a long time googling and found all sorts of online info, and even began some paper mache things - more on those when I get closer to finishing. Here's a woodcut that so many costumes are based on:

When you compare that image to what andiemoon made - well, it's immediately clear how well that costume turned out!

But the fun part is that I stumbled into a lot of other folk who are also inspired/fascinated by the plague doctor and posting photos of it on Flickr. I started off making a gallery of them - and then found so many I just gave in and started a group:
Lots of costumes, some museum pieces, and some art work in there!

Just wanted to pop back and say thanks again for posting the costume and inspiring me to research and create stuff! See what you started?!  Cheesy
