1  CLOTHING / Designer Clothing Homage / A draped vest should be pretty easy to do...right? on: August 07, 2009 07:45:17 AM
I'm liking the draped vests I'm seeing around. This one from 7 For All Mankind is especially cute, I think: http://www.7forallmankind.com/Draped_Vest/pd/np/30/p/2747.html

Seems to be some kind of tube slipped over the neck on one end and on the other end sewn up to the back of the neck? But what shape is the tube? rectangle? right triangle? trapezoid? rhombus? Any ideas for dimensions? My initial hunch is that there is some kind of right triangle going on...but I suck at geometry.

I'm thinking that once I figure this out, the drapey vests will be a no-brainer to do.

Edited to add: Yeah, I was thinking maybe the right triangle is sewn up at the 45 degree angle (which would go over the neck) and all along the opposite side (which would be brought up and sewn at the back of the neck).
