1  PURSES, BAGS, WALLETS / Purses, Bags, Wallets: Discussion and Questions / interfacing problem-- HELP! on: March 15, 2005 07:33:29 PM
I am working on some bags using cotton fabric.  To practice the bags I've been using some fabric I got at Joann's for $1.99.  I've made a bag and a hat.  First, the bag got little bubbles from the interfacing.  I tried to pay more attention to how I treated the fabric and interfacing when I made the hat.  I soaked the interfacing in hot water, drip dried, followed directions for applying:  press, don't iron;  lay a damp cloth on top while pressing.  Is it just that the interfacing stinks or is it me??  What interfacing do you use for purses/bags?   I'm looking for something to be pretty stiff for tote bags, etc.  I have been using Pellon Craft fuse and Shirt tailor.  The shirt tailor works pretty well, but the craft fuse is bubbling once the item gets any use.  Help!!!!  Is it me or the type of interfacing???
