2  JEWELRY AND TRINKETS / Trinkets and Jewelry: Completed Projects: General / necklaces! on: October 20, 2011 08:47:21 AM
Hey, it's been awhile... how are you? I'm fine, thanks for asking.

My classmate had an awesome necklace that she purchased from H&M a few years ago. I couldn't stop looking at it so I went out to recreate it. I used gift cards to purchase a butt-ton of beads and am still constructing necklaces from them.

and here's another one... I wanted one symmetrical!

Thanks for lookin'!

6  MORE ART, LESS CRAFT / More Art, Less Craft: Completed Works / Oil Painting Portrait on: September 02, 2009 10:12:37 AM
I made this oil painting back in 2006. It is a portrait of my boyfriend at the time (now an ex, but we're friends!) It is still at his parent's house...  I gave it as a gift because, well, why would I keep a painting of my ex-boyfriend?

so... yea!
7  MORE ART, LESS CRAFT / More Art, Less Craft: Completed Works / Oil Painting of Sheep on: September 02, 2009 09:55:54 AM
I did this in college  oh man now about 4 years ago (yikes!)
The assignment was to take a magazine clipping and turn it into an oil painting. I saw this article in National Geographic about sheep and I couldn't help myself.

anyway... just wanted to share!
8  HOME SWEET HOME / Crafty Housewares: Completed Projects: General / Deep Sea Animal Dishes on: June 22, 2009 03:33:51 PM
So I got this idea from the book Big Ass Book of Crafts by Mark Montano. I wanted to do an undersea animal theme. I heart jellies, squid, octopi, and cuttlefish.

and here's a couple close-ups:

it was super fun and I'm addicted.

Let me know what you think!

9  IMAGE REPRODUCTION TECHNIQUES / Other Image Reproduction Techniques: Completed Projects / Friday the 13th sculpey necklace on: June 22, 2009 03:22:11 PM
I heart Jason. Transferred an inkjet copy of jason onto sculpey clay, baked it, and poked a hole to hang it. Voila!

It's simple, but I love it...

10  HOME SWEET HOME / Crafty Housewares: Completed Projects: Reconstructed / Salvador Dali-inspired chair (pic heavy) on: June 20, 2009 03:46:48 PM
Hey this is my first official post!!!

I recently took a broken, stained captain's chair and fixed it, painted it, and created pillows to make a Salvador Dali "Persistance of Memory" chair. I made it while working as a 6th grade art teacher (leave replacement).

It auctioned off in the district art show for $220 to help pay for scholarships...

Here it is without the pillows:

Here is it with the two pillows:
