1  CRAFTY BUSINESS ADVICE / Get Product and Website Opinions / 1st Wire Wrapping Endeavors! .*: WITH PICS :*. on: June 12, 2009 12:01:55 PM
So I found a new hobby! Wire wrapping! I had ordered a whole bunch of wire on a whim months ago and I didn't really have any idea what I was going to do with it. Then a little while ago I was just messin' around and.... Tada!

Heat Pendant w/ Swarovski Flower (2 inches)

Teal and Lime Swirl Earrings (2.5 inches)

Nautilus Pendant w/ swarovski bicones and pearls(2 inches)

My personal favorite is the Nautilus one! I'm actually really pleased with these. I didn't think my first tries would turn out so well Cheesy! Please tell me what you think Smiley! Once my life calms down a bit, and I actually get my Etsy shop opened, I'm thinking about maybe putting some of these in the store. Now I have two questions for everyone:

1. Is this something you think people would actually be interested in buying and
2. What do you prefer? Things that are made from pricey materials like sterling silver/gold filled wire (which would mean they would be priced accordingly) OR things that are made with cheaper materials like artistic wire but are also priced lower.

I would love to know what you all think!  Smiley Smiley Smiley

Ps. Sorry about the pictures. My ridiculous camera absolutely will NOT take clear pictures on a cloudy day unless it's on my silicone keyboard cover. I have noooo clue why! Roll Eyes
2  POTTERY, CERAMICS, POLYMER CLAY / Polymer Clay: Completed Projects / Raichuuuuu!!! .*: WITH PICS :*. on: June 12, 2009 11:19:14 AM
Woohoo! First post! Grin

Recently a friend of mine graduated from college and I told her that in addition to some other gifts, I would make her whatever she wanted. She chose a statue of her favorite Pokemon, Raichu (Haha. She's actually not as nerdy as she sounds Wink)

I work a lot with clay, but this was the first larger sized sculpture I had ever done (I usually stick with cellphone charm type ones). I was pressed for time and can see a lot of flaws, but she really loved it so that's all that REALLY matters I suppose Smiley. I'm mostly upset that I forgot to make his ear curls! I tried to make up for it by painting curls on him, but it's just not the same Cry Roll Eyes. I was really worried that his ears would be too flimsy to survive the trip in my suitcase, but they actually turned out quite sturdy! WIN Grin! He's about 3.5 inches high and 2.5 inches wide (little fatty, haha), made with Premo and acrylics.

Please tell me what you think! I've discovered that crafters make much better craft critiques then "normal" people  Wink Roll Eyes Grin
