21  Craft Swaps / ARCHIVE OF SWAPS THAT ARE TOTALLY FINISHED / Re: Christmas Stocking Swap Round 12 (signups thru Oct. 24; sendout Dec.6) on: October 25, 2016 04:01:49 PM
Speaking of stockings and alternative materials and fun stuff ...
http://www.craftster.org/forum/index.php?topic=378923.0

I stumbled upon it while browsing Pinterest, and was delighted to discover that its creator is none other than  noooitaremybirthday!  What an adorable, funtastic stocking stuffer idea!

Speaking of Pinterest and Craftster creators, take a look at this amazing creation I pinned during the 2014 stocking swap:

LindyV has some amazing skills!

I was planning on making a board full of stockings I like so my partner can get an idea of my style, but I kept finding myself thinking 'maybe I'll make that for my partner!'  Perhaps  I'll still make the board. After all, I don't plan on making any real decisions until I first - find out who my partner is and secondly - get to know them  Smiley.

While my partners likely know they're sending to me, I'm not sure who my partners are...such mystery! 😊

Opps! I'm the one who had to check in! I just did! And I am all ready to send too!!!! Ekk! I think I'm going to have to make a second for my own collection!!!!!
Yes, make yourself one!  I rarely craft for myself, so when I'm doing a swap and decide to make my partner something that I'd like as well, I try to make two, one for them and one for me Cheesy.  For some reason it's easier to make myself stuff when I'm making something for someone else as well!

We still have several people who need to check in via pm. Please check the first page to see if I have your name in bold print. I want everyone to stay in the swap!

I sent a check in message on the 18th, but my name is not in bold, so I sent you another message.  I have my art ready to send  Cheesy.

All of my stuff looks good.  I'm super excited about the ornaments I'm set to receive Cheesy.

I was unable to get additional supplies to offer a second flatter ornament, so I'll only be offering 3 ornaments. I will be doing as KBrison suggested and offering both the nativity and the let it snow ornament under the title 'glass disk ornaments.' If you'd like one, just specify which of the two you would prefer.

Sorry Summer, I forgot to take a photo of the wax seal. I was too excited to see your PL. Yes the wax seal made it one piece. Thanks again!
Yay! I'm so glad to hear that! If it can make it all the way to Australia in one piece, it should be able to make it anywhere! I think I'll start employing wax seals as a way of dressing up my mail Smiley.

Summer, I'd be happy with either design. You could still offer both by just changing the wording to something like 'glass ball ornament', then personalize the interior design to suit the preferences of the lucky three people who will receive your ornaments.

I agree with kbrison, either ornament would be lovely. However, I am more partial to the Let it Snow.

Thank you for your responses!  I was just now thinking how I would like to do six ornaments when the obvious answer hit me...why not do 3 glass and 3 flat/paper/no need to ship in a box?  So, I'm going to hurry up and work on a sample to see if that will work out!

Lindy and kbrison, I'm sorry to hear that your ornament attempts didn't work out as planned.  I hope your second tries prove to be much more fruitful, I can't wait to see what you both come up with!  Lindy, I'm secretly hoping you have good luck with the bulbs or the reindeer Cheesy.

I love the adipose baby and those glampervans are such a unique idea!  There are so many good ornaments to choose from!

I'm glad to see willingness to partner with our international swappers!
(it helps me so much when I get ready to match partners!!)

I agree that it's great fun to receive things from other lands (as well as to
imagine them enjoying things from my country) --
the older I get, the more I enjoy travel & experiencing other cultures (either in person
or through swapping!)

I was so grateful to visit Brazil last month with my family -- my older daughter swam
in the Paralympic Games!  (oops that's probably going off too far on a tangent  Tongue

She swam in the Paralympic Games?? What an amazing accomplishment! I'd want to drop that little piece of news into all my conversations regardless of if it was related or too far off tangent Smiley.

Bec, did the wax seal survive the journey to Australia? This is how it looked before I put it in the envelope, I was afraid there might've been too much wax.
