1  ORGANIZED CRAFT SWAPS / The Swap Gallery / Christmas Stocking Swap Round 12 Gallery on: December 16, 2016 03:55:05 PM
I just got caught up on the gallery, there are so many great stockings and stuffers!!

My son has been having some medical issues that in the past three weeks have resulted in a hospital stay and two ER visits (the most recent being this past weekend), so things have been pretty hectic around here and I haven't had a chance to post pics of my amazing stocking package yet. Thankfully, my partner and our organizer have both been very understanding! And now, for the Doctor Who stocking extravaganza you've been waiting for!

First off, the amazing stocking, complete with a TARDIS interior! The tenth Doctor is my favorite and I love this stocking!!

There were so many items inside the stocking, including these two shirts (I especially love the Bad Wolf graffitied on the Tardis!), these gloves that I'm in love with, and this glasses case that is perfect for me (my son wears glasses and I like to keep a case for them in my purse).

Not only were there two shirts for me, but there were two for my son! They're cute and they fit him perfectly!

BlushingBlueGrass also made me a mug with a quote from my favorite Doctor, as well as some earrings that I immediately recognized as sonic screwdrivers! She also sent some handmade soap that I can't wait to try out (the only reason I haven't used it yet is because I made myself wait to take pics first)!

On top of all that, she also sent some crafty extras (beads and DW fabric - woohoo!) as well as some tasty looking ones (I don't know who will be more entertained by 'The Super Dooper Reindeer Pooper, my son or my husband, lol).
Thank you so much for everything BlushingBlueGrass, I love it all! You were a great swap partner and I'm really glad we were paired together!

I received an amazing Doctor Who themed stocking package from BlushingBluegrass this evening!!  The actual stocking is so fun and well made!  I haven't seen any like it before and I love it!  The stocking I made for her did not turn out like the spectacular masterpiece I was hoping for, so like LindyV, I'm really hoping the stuffers will make up for it, but swap anxiety is starting to creep up on me  Undecided.

I will post pictures of my wonderful stocking and marvelous stuffers soon!

I love that sewing machine cover! I have a basic plastic one that came with my machine, but now I want a beautiful fabric one instead!

Memorable stocking stuffer - on the first Christmas my husband and I spent together, I found some glass ball ornaments in my stocking. The thing that made them really special was that my husband had gone to a glass blowing gallery and made them himself! I smile every time I think of them 😊.

Wow, all these people finished already!  I have several stuffers ready and have made good progress on the stocking, but I've still got a ways to go!

I feel the same way! I'm happy that I have more done than I'd realized, but with sendouts a week away, I'm starting to feel the crunch a little bit!

My favorite handmade gift is a gift that I helped with.
My sister was pregnant with her third baby and super excited that it was a girl. The crib she had was a hand-me-down that someone had given her and had already been used by her two boys.  The crib had seen better days and was nothing like what she wanted, but she planned to make do. My husband decided to make and surprise her with a crib similar (but way better in my opinion) to the one she wanted.
My husband did most of the work, from creating the design in his head, to cutting out the pieces, to painting and putting it together. I created the ruffle for the top and helped with some sanding.
When my sister finished opening gifts at her shower, I put a blindfold on her and my husband wheeled in the crib. She didn't know what to expect and when she took the blindfold off, it was like she couldn't believe her eyes. She was in shock and it took her a few moments to compose herself. I think it may have been the most 'I can't believe this, I've never been happier with a gift' reaction that I've ever seen Smiley.
Here's a pic of the crib (this was the only picture that I could find).

I agree with seeuudee, I would definitely sign up for that swap too!!
I have an idea for the stocking. I've seen it done before, so I know it looks really good, the only question is, do I have the skills to make it happen? I'm not sure. I guess I'll find out Smiley.

P.S I'm seriously jealous of anyone who has temperatures colder than 60 right now -3- Southern California can't make up it's bleedin' mind what season it wants to be in...I'm going to be receiving a stocking in summer. Seems not quite right  Grin Roll Eyes

I can agree with you about the So Cal weather! I've been having a difficult time lately deciding if I should dress my son in shorts or pants! I figure the temp will probably make a sudden dip and we'll be plunged into sweater weather!! 😊
