1  JEWELRY AND TRINKETS / Beads: Completed Projects / My beaded bracelets and skull earrings on: August 27, 2009 11:31:50 AM
I just learned how to do beaded bracelets so I made a bunch of stuff.  I love using crystals the best because they are so shiny, but I did some large chunky seed beads too and I liked the way they turned out.  Of course, I had to do one with a skull and I added my new skull earrings too because I think they are cool.

The skulls are plastic.  The bottle caps with the fish and starfish are the fancy top to some large paperclips I got at the $ store and took off the clip thingy.  I use Diamond Glaze - I don't cover them up completely because I like the 3D effect.

I have been making jewelry like crazy but I couldn't figure out how to post my pictures.  I want to thank "pinokeeo" for answering my question - I just couldn't figure it out.  My knowledge is sub-par when it comes to the Internet.
I love making jewelry out of nontraditional media.  On some of these I have used mounting tape - the type you use to hang pictures up with, bottle caps, skulls from paper coasters, etc.
Please make comments.  Thanks for looking.

4  NEWS AND DISCUSSION ABOUT CRAFTSTER / Craftster Itself / Trying to post and just can't do it. on: August 22, 2009 12:29:37 AM
I know how to get to the "start new topic".  I have pictures in Crafster Photo Hosting.  When I click on Crafster Photo Hosting, I can get to my photos, but I don't know how to get the picture I select back to my post.  Also, do you choose one of the clipboard options toward the bottom of the page and which one should you choose, and then how does that request get back to your post. Not only that, I don't know how to get back to my post - I back click because I can't find anyother way to do it, but I don't get back to my post, I end up God knows where.  It's probably not that hard, but I need some "talk down to me" instructions.  Can anyone help me.  Thanks.
5  JEWELRY AND TRINKETS / Trinkets and Jewelry: Completed Projects: General / Re: medic alert bracelet and rosary on: July 19, 2009 08:59:42 AM
I think making a decorative medical alert bracelet is a great idea.  I don't wear one but if I ever do, I am going to do what you did.  It makes it very stylish instead of so ugh institutional.  That is a really great idea.

Super Nice - what did you use for the circle, it's so perfect.

I am an older person, so I am going to say this.  Would his parents or yours think this was a nice gift that he made for you.  You don't have to answer that, just think about it.
8  JEWELRY AND TRINKETS / Trinkets and Jewelry: Discussion and Questions / Re: Not sure where this goes.... jewelry bag opinions please! on: June 29, 2009 08:47:04 PM
Here's what I do.  I bought foam sheets that are 4x6, folded them making sure that there is enough to make a flap.  I use hot glue to connect the sides, punch a hole in the top flap with a regular hole punch, hot glue a bead that is large enough to hold the flap closed.  They could probably have other decorations put on them.  Anyway, one "cushioned gift envelope" cost me about 2 cents to make. Just a suggestion.
9  JEWELRY AND TRINKETS / Trinkets and Jewelry: Discussion and Questions / Re: Melting beads on a BBQ? on: June 29, 2009 08:33:34 PM
I don't think you would get an even distribution of heat by doing it on a grill.  I use a cheap toaster oven that I bought just for melting and such and use it on the porch.
10  JEWELRY AND TRINKETS / Trinkets and Jewelry: Discussion and Questions / Re: making acrylic pendants on: June 29, 2009 08:26:39 PM
I make what I call "acrylic" jewelry and I use pony beads in fondu molds (used in cake decorating).  I have a tutorial on my web site: http://kittyspurseshop@aol.com
