3  CLOTHING / Shoes: Completed Projects / Satin Bows and Pinstripes on: November 26, 2010 12:48:11 AM
I can't resist putting pinstripes on everything I do, I swear ... Even in my shoes! Also, this is a super easy alteration. And super quick C:

After:

I found a tired pair of Diana Ferrari shoes in the thrift shop and thought they had potential as cute Lolita style footwear. They were in good condition, with no scuffs, and only a few minor chips around the bottom edge. Also, they were a size 7, and Im a 6 6 , but I thought I could fix that.

Before:

First I polished them, and coloured in those chips with a black sharpie Grin

Then I tore the insoles out of a pair of shoes that I have only worn once. They have the comfiest soles, but unfortunately pinched my heels and gave me the most scarring blisters I have ever had D: Tearing them apart gave me a whole lot of vindictive pleasure  >D

The sacrifice:

I covered the insoles with pink pinstripes, because I love contrasting inner colours in shoes.

Then I made some satin bows and sewed them to the front. Easy!

And, I added a cute ankle ribbon after I took the above photo. They fit perfectly now, and are super comfy ♥

These shoes are the first finished item from my holiday project ... to sew a collection of Lolita, Visual Kei and Japanese Street Fashion inspired clothing, mostly from thrifted/ reconned clothing. The progress is being documented on my blog
