31  TOYS, DOLLS AND PLAYTHINGS / Toys, Dolls and Playthings: Completed Projects / Cowboy on: September 26, 2015 10:32:16 PM
A cowboy doll for my nephew for a Christmas present.

Made from a Dolls and Daydreams pattern.
32  TOYS, DOLLS AND PLAYTHINGS / Toys, Dolls and Playthings: Completed Projects / Cowgirl on: September 26, 2015 10:27:42 PM
My brother-in-law is kind of a cowboy/farmer. So for my nieces Christmas present this year I made her a cowgirl doll.

She is made from a Dolls and Daydreams pattern and is 19 inches tall.
33  TOYS, DOLLS AND PLAYTHINGS / Toys, Dolls and Playthings: Completed Projects / Sleeping Beauty doll on: September 25, 2015 02:39:24 PM
This lovely lady is 21" tall. She is made from the Topsy Turvy Sleeping Beauty pattern by Dolls and Daydreams.

You just flip over the skirt to change which doll you have. She can go to a dance, or she can stay at home and sleep. I made her for my 9 year old daughter for a Christmas present. I just hope she likes her.
34  TOYS, DOLLS AND PLAYTHINGS / Toys, Dolls and Playthings: Completed Projects / Ninja! on: September 25, 2015 02:34:58 PM
I decided to get a head start on Christmas this year. The blue ninja is for my son (blue and red are his favorite colors). The black ninja I made just because and ended up giving it to my friend to use as a birthday present for her son.

They are 19" tall and made from the Dolls and Daydreams Ninja pattern.
35  Halloween / Halloween Decor and Parties / Pumpkin Head Doll on: September 07, 2015 09:59:47 AM
The weather is getting cooler and I'm starting to get in the Halloween mood. So I decided to make this little Pumpkin Head doll to go with my decorations.

She is made from the Poppy Poppet pattern by Dolls and Daydreams. I simply used orange fabric for the head, painted on a pumpkin face, and left off the hair. My husband says she is creepy cute. I love her.
36  KNITTING / Knitting: Completed Projects / Blessing Dress on: September 02, 2015 01:41:33 PM
Earlier this year I found out that my sister-in-law was going to have a little girl. I got super excited because other than me, no one had little girls, only little boys. So I offered to make her blessing dress. The pattern the parents chose was from a little booklet called "Timeless Christening Sets".

Here is the back:

And a closeup of the bodice:

I'm still fairly new to knitting so this was a great learning experience. It also built my confidence a lot. And despite being bored of the pattern by the time I finished the skirt, I've decided I really love to knit.
37  TOYS, DOLLS AND PLAYTHINGS / Toys, Dolls and Playthings: Completed Projects / Luna Lovegood Poppet on: March 29, 2015 05:28:46 PM
AugustBell was my partner in the Be Awesome Redux swap and wanted something to display. Her favorite fandom is Harry Potter and her avatar is Luna wearing her lion hat, so a Luna poppet is was!

I couldn't find small radishes, but I found some tiny carrot charms and thought they would make the perfect earrings for Luna. To help establish that she is in fact Luna, I made her butter beer cork necklace.  I knit her a sweater to go over her tank top and match her flowered jeans.

Her hair is mohair locks that I needle felted to her head. They are super silky, curly, and oh so soft.

And of course I had to make her lion hat. I just made the head from Larry the Lion a Funky Friends Factory pattern and glued it to a doll witches hat that I found at the craft store.

38  FIBER ARTS / Spinning: Completed Projects / Sweet Heart Spin-Along Yarn on: February 21, 2015 04:49:38 PM
I recently participated in Blue Mountain Handcrafts Sweet Heart Spin-Along.

This is the yarn I made from the kit I ordered.

39  ORGANIZED CRAFT SWAPS / New Swap Theme Ideas / Another Fiber Swap on: January 18, 2015 08:26:54 AM
So we were going to do another fiber swap last year, but for one reason or another it just never happened. I still think it would be really fun, so would anyone be interested.

We could do it just like last time: send 4 oz of fiber that you processed in some way (dyed, combed, carded etc.).  Or we could do it like a swap they had back in 2008. It was a handspun art yarn swap. Basically you send at least 3 oz of fiber and 1 oz of add ins to be spun into art yarn. I think we would still need to keep the requirement of you processing the fiber in some way though.

What do you guys think?

40  JEWELRY AND TRINKETS / Trinkets and Jewelry: Completed Projects: General / Pearl Necklace on: November 18, 2014 12:24:18 PM

I made this pearl necklace a while ago, just for fun. You can't really tell from the pictures, but a few of the pearls are slightly pink in hue.

I followed this tutorial: http://melancholysmile.blogspot.com/2012/06/diy-j-crew-necklace.html
