221  Darling Daisy Dolls in Toys, Dolls and Playthings: Completed Projects by meleriffic on: February 03, 2012 11:12:51 AM

I'm having a little girl in April and wanted to make her a baby doll. My SIL is having a baby in August, and while we don't know what she's having yet, I thought I'd make an extra doll in case it turns out to be a girl. If not, maybe my little one will get two.

They're made from the Darling Daisy Pattern by Alison Berry.

jillybeans- The TM HP patches are amazing. I bet your SIL will love it.

Abbeeroad- That hat is adorable. (So is your little model.)

Here is my last project. A Castle Crashers cake for my sons 4th birthday. The color is not quite right, but yellow is his favorite and he loved it, so who cares.

So for January that makes 6 projects completed. 1 a WIP from last year, and 2 that have white.

I finally finished the blanket I was working on. It's my first large (well kind of large) crocheting project. You can find some of the details here.

And just because I think it's cute, here's my 19 month old trying to crochet the finished blanket.

224  Baby Bobble Blanket in Crochet: Completed Projects by meleriffic on: January 27, 2012 10:22:48 AM
This is the biggest crochet project I've managed yet. I saw this super cute baby blanket online and luckily, the creator shared tips on how she made it. She in turn got the idea from someone else, who also gave tips on making the blanket.

I used Bernet Satin in Lavender and ended up using just shy of 9 skeins. I used a J hook, but could have easily used a larger hook to make it go faster as the fabric is pretty dense. Size wise it is approximately 39 inches by 37 inches.

Earlier sheepBlue posted a really cool braided seed bead necklace. Since I have a ton of seed beads I decided to try it out. I just happened to have Valentine colored seed beads, so instead of going with a solid color necklace, I decided to try out red, pink, and white.

I used over 1200 seed beads and still have loads more (I didn't even make a dent in my stash). I can't decide if I like the 3 colors or if I prefer it in just one color like sheepBlue's.

226  Re: 2012 DeStash-Along in Craftalongs by meleriffic on: January 19, 2012 01:15:32 PM
Love the Ipad case it looks great!

I finally destashed some things. I got the idea from SheepBlue, she posted a green necklace in the 50 Projects craftalong that I really wanted to try out. So since I had Valentine colored seed beads I thought I would give it a try. I used over 1200 seed beads, but of course it didn't even begin to make a dent in my stash. (The beads were given to me by AlwaysInMyRoom so maybe it counts as a destash for her too.  Smiley)

I finally finished a WIP that I had started just before Christmas.  It's a maternity dress with a t-shirt used for the bodice. I didn't really like how it looked where the skirt and bodice connected so I added a cute belt.

Oh, and the angle of the pictures weird because my husband was sitting on the floor and didn't bother getting up to take it.

I finally completed some projects. They were tiny and simple, and not at all on my list, but I finished something so it's good enough for me.

First a bracelet for a four year old. I only hope the glue I used will keep the knot from coming loose.

Then some fabric covered button hair ties.

229  Re: Mini 12 Days Of Christmas 2011 Gallery in The Swap Gallery by meleriffic on: November 15, 2011 07:03:19 AM
Sorry it's taken me so long and that two of the pictures are still missing. There was Christmas, plus my sister's wedding yesterday, so things have been hectic. I'll try and get those two missing pictures up as soon as possible.

Day 12
Christmas Lap Quilt

Day 11
(Accidently deleted picture from camera when uploading to computer will have to retake)

Day 10
Snowmen button Ornaments

Day 9
Modge podged letter H
(pics to come)

Day 8
2 Key Fobs

Day 7
Super cute button tree painting.

We're driving to family for Christmas starting at 4:30 am on the 18th and will be driving all that day as well as all day on the 19th so I went ahead and opened Day 5 and 6 as I wouldn't have time to get things posted on those days. Also Day 6 is actually Day 11, but it felt like an awkward package and I didn't want to pack and possibly break it, so I switched numbers a bit.

Day 6
A cute Christmas wreath

Day 5
Stuffies, a book, and chocolate for the kids

Day 4
Santa Hand Towels

Day 3
Reindeer Chocolates and Reindeer Socks

Day 2
A cute Christmas Sign

Day 1
A cute Christmas tin with dark chocolate truffles! My husband and I love these, and I doubt they'll last very long.

Here is a group shot of everything that redstar13 sent me.

I met up with quaggy to give her her package from me. She didn't have to, but she gave me a few goodies as well.

A picture frame that says "Believe" decorated with colored buttons. A ceramic snowman that she painted (so amazingly well done). A basket of goodies (rick rack, bias tape, 2 holiday fabric quarters, a Christmas puzzle, suckers, apple pie flavored gum, holiday pretzels, Lindor truffles, and peppermint chocolate).
And not pictured is a $20 gift certificate to the fabric store we met up. I can't wait to go back and spend it.

Thank you so much quaggy.

I made this skirt for my daughter out of two bandanna's and the bottom of a black t-shirt. I found the tutorial at Sun Scholars. That puts me at 48/50.
