22  japanese book+ old suitcase= stylish new travel gear in Purses, Bags, Wallets: Completed Projects: Reconstructed by ecogeek* on: April 07, 2010 10:23:50 PM
so a few years back my aunt gave me this classic old suitcase and I attempted to decoupage. Now it turned out great but having gained a better sense of style my initial decoupage needed to be redone. I had found an japanese book at my local value village so i thought what a great way to make this suitcase useable again but to re-decoupage it. I keep the leather trim and interior untouched but repainted the rusted metal with a metallic white paint. Oh and just incase you were wondering, I'm pretty sure the japanese book is about hair styling, but my inability to read japanese leaves me a bit in the dark.

Before (the sides looked similarly awful)

23  Random Charms and Earrings in Polymer Clay: Completed Projects by ecogeek* on: February 26, 2010 01:47:35 AM
Just some random charms i came up with. There are bullet bill and yoshi egg earrings to feed my mario obsession. There are spock and bubble tea charms for my wonderfully nerdy boyfriend. And tomato and carrot earrings and a toast charm for my friend in Halifax, which I'm going to send off to her in a goodies package i'm slowly putting together. I didn't have the right colors for the carrot and the toast  so they are ... how you so artistically interpreted.

24  Pentapus Charm in Polymer Clay: Completed Projects by ecogeek* on: February 17, 2010 07:58:27 PM
Being eager to get started on my latest swap I made some pentapuses charms. The swap is the Avatar Swap but I don't have a partner yet so this was pretty neutral. While I was at it I made a bunch for my friends. I used a tutorial off of Deviant Art that made this a breeze.

I know this is nothing new but it's my first quilt and I'm super proud of it. I used some cheap polar fleece blankets from Wal Mart as backing. I was so set on finishing this project I was up till 6 in the morning finishing (I started at 7ish).

27  8-bit Mario Rug in Crochet: Completed Projects by ecogeek* on: February 11, 2010 02:23:23 AM
I was super inspired by PeaceLovesBrains flying/raccoon mario rug but I had no idea how to crochet. So after some trial and error and learning from youtube videos, I (reasonably) mastered the creation of granny squares. So after countless hours of crocheting in front of Seasons 3 & 4 of Dr. Who I created this awesome rug.  Grin

My progress after 1 day of putting it together

The dent I got in my finger from crocheting 197 granny squares

28  Revamp AE Skimmers to Something Nerdworthy in Shoes: Completed Projects by ecogeek* on: February 06, 2010 10:12:08 PM
I had this pair of AE skimmers that i never wore and decided i wanted to make them into Zelda detailed shoes.  I did a green base coat then I painted triforces (?), fairies, ocarinas, health hearts, swords and shields on them with silver paint. I still have to water proof them but still I'm super happy with them especially cause I'm not much of an artist. Lemme know what you think  Cheesy
