1  CROCHET / Crochet: Discussion and Questions / Re: Any Tips on making sure you pick up the back stitch??? on: January 31, 2009 06:16:30 AM
I rarely go through both loops on my starting ch it's so much easier for me not to.
Same here. But I figure, whatever looks and feels the best to you is the right way.  Wink

Sorry for not responding sooner. i've been MIA from the internet in general lately.
I didn't end up naming the monkey, but I suppose if I did it would be something old and slightly odd for a monkey.
Thank you again for the sweet comments. The pattern wasn't really difficult so much as time consuming.  Try it; you might like it. Smiley

Those are too sweet! I think I might have to put my other projects on hold and try one of them...

Thank you for the sweet comments! Smiley  I was a little shocked with her response too, but I think someday it will grow on her. This was the first sizable project that I ever finished. I've made little dishcloths and granny squares, but never a whole toy. I even started knitting a sweater 4 years ago that is still left undone in storage.  Cheesy I think I'm going to make another monkey for the brother just for the fun of it. It should be easier since I've already been through the pattern once. If anyone's interested, I got the pattern at Joann's for $4.50, but I found it here on amazon for the same price plus shipping.

Thankyou very much! Grin
Unfortunately, (and shockingly) the little girl I made the monkey for didn't like him! Her first words after seeing him were exactly "I don't like it."  Huh I couldn't believe it! But her brother LOVES it and requested one in blue. Hopefully his goes a little quicker.
