Nice recon! I like the pattern on the fabric, and you did a good job on the tutorial. Thanks for sharing! I've never tried shirring before, but I've got some fabric and a dress idea that I want to make for my daughter and I'd like to do some shirring on it. You've inspired me to give it a go!
I saw this recipe a few days ago on the food network and gave it a try. The cookies turned out great, and it was super easy without tons of ingredients.
Preheat oven to 350 degrees F.
1 package sugar cookie mix 1 egg 1/2 cup all-purpose flour 1/4 cup melted butter 2 tablespoons pumpkin pie spice 1/2 teaspoon ground ginger 1/4 cup dark molasses 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
In a large mixing bowl, blend all ingredients together (dough will be very thick, but just work it until all ingredients are combined, I recommend with a wooden spoon or with your hands and not in a mixer) Chill for up to 1 hour. Roll dough out on board sprinkled with powdered sugar about 1/8-inch thick. Cut desired shapes with cookie cutters and place onto sheet pan. Bake for 8 minutes in preheated oven. Don't worry if the cookies look marbled before you bake them because of the sugar on the board, it will absorb into the cookies while they bake.
