2  FIBER ARTS / Felting: Completed Projects / Christmas Stocking Santa with Lamb on: November 09, 2010 06:56:40 AM
This is a felt stocking I made from a wet felted cashmere sweater.  The santa and lamb I needlefelted on with wool from my sheep.  The yarn that I used to stitch it together is made from my sheep, dyed bright red and handspun by me.  The trim is from a border leicester ewe owned by my shearer, he gave me a fleece a while ago, the locks are washed and then needled onto the stocking.  It is 12" talla d a little more than 7 inches from heel to toe.

This is a really simple pattern I use all the time to make a quick hat which features the beauty of natural colors of shetland wool.  This hat came from Persia, one of our adult ewes.
