11  FIBER ARTS / Spinning: Completed Projects / Re: My little handspun collection. on: July 16, 2006 02:04:46 PM
Thanks everyone!

The one on the far right is a 50/50 merino mohair in the "Lillypond" colorway I got from Tintagel Farms at sheep and wool.
12  FIBER ARTS / Spinning: Completed Projects / My little handspun collection. on: July 16, 2006 07:26:03 AM
I got a spindle at this year's MS&W festival and about 16 ozs of fiber.  I started working on and it and was lucky enough find a LYS that sells spinning supplies too because both of the rovings I had bought at S&W were green, and I needed some change.  Below are the efforts I am most pleased with.  The weights range from fingering to worsted.

13  Craft Swaps / ARCHIVE OF SWAPS THAT ARE TOTALLY FINISHED / Re: Handspun Swap (SIGNUP 7/6/06 - 7/22/06 ; MAIL BY 8/14/06) on: July 16, 2006 06:45:41 AM
I was just wondering if there was a handspun swap and decided to look and viola! this was here.  Great timing!  I've signed up.

And Mayerlove, I am using a drop spindle as well, don't worry about it, the more you do it the better the joins get.
14  POTTERY, CERAMICS, POLYMER CLAY / Polymer Clay: Discussion and Questions / Re: New to Polymer Clay, want to make Millefleur. on: July 13, 2006 04:35:48 PM
Thank you both and Diane that is EXACTLY what I meant.  I want to make the flower canes so I can smooth them over beads and have flowered beads. Smiley
15  POTTERY, CERAMICS, POLYMER CLAY / Polymer Clay: Discussion and Questions / New to Polymer Clay, want to make Millefleur. on: July 13, 2006 01:49:45 PM
I have a couple of chunks of Sculpey III and want to make some millefleur beads with it but can't find any tute's online to help me out.  I beheld the power of google and it let me down.

Anyone know of any good links or even a good book for this?

16  KNITTING / Knitting: Completed Projects / Re: Rebel Alliance Purse (felting, intarsia, and a killer logo) on: July 04, 2006 12:20:50 PM
Very nice!  Did you compensate for the shrinking when charting the logo or just go with it?
17  CROCHET / Crochetalongs / Re: Butterfly Shawl from knit 1. on: June 26, 2006 09:05:11 AM
You know....I'm pretty pissed at how long it took them to post corrections. I emailed them 2x a month ago, and only received the email with the corrections in it today(no other word. just today!)! I hate my shawl now and want to toss it in the trash! I spent SO much time on it and feel like I was the "Guinea pig" test crocheter! Who want's it? cuz I'm about to rip it to shreds and toss it in the trash!

While I understand your frustation with not getting the corrections in a timely manner, your shawl is beautiful and it would be a shame to destroy it in a fit of anger.   Your shawl is the reason I decided to buy the  mag and make it at some future date, and I imagine many others feel the same.  It's still stunning and it's still handmade by you.  I think you should keep it.
18  KNITTING / Knitting: Discussion and Questions / Re: Umm err question. Do they do WIPs here? on: June 25, 2006 12:20:05 PM
A WIP thread could always be started here in Discussion; after all it would be discussion about what you are working on.
19  KNITTING / Knitalongs / Re: eunny jang's print o' the wave stole on: June 17, 2006 04:17:26 PM
Email Eunny, there was a problem with the edging and I am not sure if she updated the pdf yet, of if she has and you are working from the older one.  I can't remember exactly what it was off the top of my head but she'll know for sure. Smiley
20  KNITTING / Knitting: Completed Projects / Re: bottle of booze, intarsia-style on: May 28, 2006 04:32:57 AM
Well let us know if you stumble across a pic of the ad online.  I am curious as to how it turned out and how they used it.
