1  KNITTING / Knitting: Completed Projects / Re: Dropped stitch summer top on: September 13, 2011 12:37:47 AM
Thanks. My sister really likes it except that she's just got pregnant so this may end up going into the back of her closet soon!

Beautiful! The fit looks really flattering.
2  CRAFTY BUSINESS ADVICE / Get Product and Website Opinions / Re: Ripley's Believe It Or Not! Wants My Dress on: September 09, 2011 03:07:01 AM
Congrats! All that awesome work!

Actually just another alternative...is there any way where you can speak to the museums or art associations to see if you could have sponsors to have these pcs as exhibition pieces? Just exhibit ticket sales alone may well be over the amounts offered by Ripley's and you still own them.

Anything under US$1000 per piece is just too little. The fees should not be just for the production efforts but also your idea conceptualizing.

If you want to sell to them, you also need to consider to put in clauses that give you royalties if they make replicas for mass sales.

Just my 2 cents. Good luck in whatever decision you make!

Thanks FeliciaSlay, Oyhana, Dulcet.

After knitting it, I was sorely tempted to keep it for myself but with the fitting work I have incorporated with my sister's body shape in mind, the garment just won't hang on me as well.

I am considering knitting up another but all that twisted ribbing will most likely just kill me!

It's been a long time since I last posted here.

I just managed to get some FO photos of the top I knitted for my sister.

I have another photo of my sister actually wearing it posted with details at my blog http://bit.ly/oJvMFF

Any comments appreciated. Smiley
5  KNITTING / Knitting: Completed Projects / Re: Fair isle + cables = one big headache! on: September 06, 2011 08:45:11 PM
Thanks for the compliments.

Actually I haven't been wearing this much. I realized I should have made the bodice longer for this style.

It looks great! Have you worn it out yet?

I've been wanting to knit up a dress since i have done up a crochet version several years back.

Now that I have a knitted version on the needles, I am hoping to get around to finishing it sometime soon!

8  CROCHET / Crochet: Completed Projects / Re: My flirty (Lily Chin) summer crochet dress! on: August 11, 2009 12:40:11 AM
Thanks Nedrian,

I always felt that way about crochet. Until I saw some of these great patterns!

it really takes a lot for me to like crocheted... things to wear, lol. usually they look too "granny" type for me or something. this is seriously amazing though. really good job pulling it all together. i've never attempted clothing but this kind of makes me want to try...

Thanks for all the compliments. It's been a long while since I last popped into craftster.

I'm still very much crocheting and there's a new project that I'm working on. Will share more when it's finished!

Cheers Smiley
