1  Re: first try at mosiacs... in Crafty Housewares: Completed Projects: General by jennymeg on: December 10, 2004 09:35:47 AM
I just did a tray as my first mosaic project, too.  I came here to do a search to see if I was missing anything. There is no project, it seems, that hasn't been done and posted on Craftster. Anyway, I used black grout, stained glass pieces, then painted the tray red with a varnish coating. I'll take a picture when it is dry. I distressed it with sandpaper, but next time, I'm not sure I'll do that.

One thing. . . should I use anything to seal it? I just got back from a craft store and there was a product for just that.

Here it is -

I put images underneath the clear glass tiles. I bought a mixed bag of stained glass chips from Michael's, but next time I'd like a bunch more to be clear.

2  Re:Cardboard Mail Divider in Crafty Housewares: Completed Projects: Reconstructed by jennymeg on: March 20, 2004 05:10:50 AM
I felt the need to bump this thread. I've been thinking about it for a week. I just organized my office space and want to make something to divide things like "pending orders,"  "customer special requests," "wholesale inquiries."

(LATER) Here it is -

I used a shallow box and slanted the dividers (I cut them at an angle). I was very happy with the result!

3  Re:AMAZING fabrics!!! in Sewing in General: Discussion and Questions by jennymeg on: February 23, 2004 05:19:54 PM
I made this from the tattoo print today, and couple of headbands.

Yes, I order from Fabric Attic, too. It is a pretty small shop in Montana (from what I've heard from a friend who visited) and so  I like to support them.

*sorry the image is so big. The thumbnail was too tiny Smiley
