Class: Divintation
House: Gryffindor
Project Name: Alice in Wonderland Charm Bracelet

Project Page Link:  Alice in Wonderland Charm Bracelet
Brief Description: For my Cartomancy homework I decided to explore the world of playing cards, and delve more deeply into a Muggle story that includes many allusions to the world of playing cards, Alice's Adventures in Wonderland.  My studies uncovered each of the four suits (hearts, spades, diamonds & clubs), and even a very cross Queen!  The charms include Drink Me & a tiny bottle, book for Lewis Caroll's story, pocket watch, the Queen's crown, heart, enameled & jeweled teacup, Wonderland, Queen of Hearts card, White Rabbit, club, Alice, Cheshire Cat, lamp work glass Mushroom, Tea Party, diamond, enameled teapot, top hat, Union Jack, Off With Their Heads, spade, and a Door Mouse.

My new charm bracelet is a take on an old favorite.  Alice's Adventures in Wonderland, come to life in a charm bracelet.  I went a bit crazy with this one and included a lot of enameled charms, along with my regular silver & pewter charms.  The charms include Drink Me & a tiny bottle, book for Lewis Caroll's story, pocket watch, the Queen's crown, heart, enameled & jeweled teacup, Wonderland, Queen of Hearts card, White Rabbit, club, Alice, Cheshire Cat, lamp work glass Mushroom, Tea Party, diamond, enameled teapot, top hat, Union Jack, Off With Their Heads, spade, and a Door Mouse.  The beads are a mix of glass, lamp work glass roses, Czech glass, AB Czech glass, and crystal beads in shades of black, white, red, and just a touch of Alice blue.

Enjoy!

Note from the Deputy Headmistress...

Your Deputy Headmistress must apologize.  It seems that even though I made a Detention Challenge Badge for March, I forgot to upload it, or even award it the first time!  So, for MamanTattoo, pinkleo, tiamatfire, indigo_roses, noodle-bug, ErinAquaheart, FreakieGeekie, & travelgirl, here is your missing badge.

In further Detention News, the Detention prompt for April has been posted!  (And no, it is not a hoax.)  It is Detention with McGonagall, and as we all know, Prof. McGonagall never jokes about Detentnion.  Look at that face.  She is not kidding about your serious lack of judgement.  Be sure to take the Portkey to Detention to see the new prompt.

Remember, you can do any, all, or none of the Detention Challenges as they come up each month.  The goal here is always to be excited about our crafting!

Also please remember tbucket you may submit ANY of the Detention Challenges at ANY time during the semester.  For example, you may turn in the March or April challenges in May.

Challenge: Bertie Bott's - Soap
House: Gryffindor!
Project Name: Fancy Dishcloth

Brief Description: A few Christmas' ago, the lovely pinkleo sent me a stack of awesome crocheted dishcloths.  At first I was too afraid to use them, because they were so pretty, but when we ran out of scrubby sponges one day, I broke down and started using them.  OMG, they are freakin' great!  Since then I've received a few more in swaps, and I use a fresh one in my kitchen every other day.  Smiley  In the last few weeks though, 2 finally gave out.  (After a few YEARS of loyal service I might add!)  So right now I'm down to *almost* enough in my stash, to get through between mega-laundry days.  I whipped up this one today to replace one of my lost cleaning pals.  Sadly, the lighting in my kitchen at night is awful.  It's a really pretty plum purple, cornflower blue, sage green, and sunshiney yellow.  The yarn is I Love This Cotton!  I think I made a mistake in the final round and added 2 extra stitches to each set, giving the edge a little extra ripple.  Oh well, it will still scrub my pots & pans like a champ!

Squeeee!!!!  I'm included on a present for you?!?!?!  How freakin' cool is that!!!!!   Patty_o, you have outdone yourself with that one.  The game looks so stunning and professional that it almost doesn't seem handmade. (And I mean that in the best possible way.)  Pinks, we're going to have to play together when I come out for NEXT year's USITT in Fort Worth!!!
