1  SEWING IN GENERAL / Sewing in General: Discussion and Questions / Rainbow Color Studs? on: March 18, 2009 06:29:38 PM
I've seen those belts with the rainbow pyramid studs on them.  I would love to get my hands on the studs themselves so I can use them to make other things.  Does anyone know where and if you can buy just the colored pyramid studs?  Or do I just have to tear up the belts to get the studs?
2  JEWELRY AND TRINKETS / Beads: Discussion and Questions / Frosted Beads? on: January 29, 2009 04:00:12 AM
Does anyone know where I can find frosted seed beads?
3  JEWELRY AND TRINKETS / Beads: Discussion and Questions / Beading Thread - What is the best? on: November 13, 2008 12:35:14 AM
In your opinion and experience, what is the best beading thread?

I'm looking for a nylon thread that is really strong (and comes in a variety of colors).  I'm always worried about the strength of my thread and whether it can hold the weight of the beads.  I can just imagine my pieces falling apart on me.  I've been using Nymo, but even when using beeswax, it has a tendency to fray.  I'm also concerned about it's strength.

I ordered some C-Lon and thought I'd give that a try.  Does anyone have any experience with this type of thread?  What about Silamide?  I see that a lot of people use it.  I've looked online for this, but I've only seen size A.  Is this the only size they make?  Do you have to double the size A or is it strong enough without doubling it?
4  JEWELRY AND TRINKETS / Trinkets and Jewelry: Discussion and Questions / Softening hemp? on: October 29, 2008 01:37:19 PM
I received a necklace from someone that is made from large hemp and is fairly wide.  It's a little stiff.  Is there any way to soften it?
5  FIBER ARTS / Dyeing: Discussion and Questions / Pigments and Dyes? on: October 29, 2008 01:28:11 PM
Does anyone know where I can find pigments and dyes for resin at reasonable prices?  Also, are there any online stores you'd recommend for purchasing Pearl-Ex powders?  If you know of any actual stores that might carry any of this, that would be fine too.

6  Wisconsin / Wisconsin: Southeast / Anyone in or around Racine? on: October 26, 2008 05:56:11 PM
Are there any crafty people in or around Racine?  I don't know any people my age, and certainly none that craft.  I need a crafting buddy!
