I hope my package from Melvinator makes it by the end of tommorow...   Embarrassed We have to take off for over a week so I can have this baby.   Will be gone from the 30th to the 7th or 8th! yikes!  oh well, if it doesn't at least it will be here by the time I get back.

7514  FIBER ARTS / Felting: Discussion and Questions / Re: Embossing felt? on: December 27, 2009 04:39:49 PM
I'm no expert what so ever. but in my head if you were to just rub the area you were wanting to emboss in the embossing pattern, it might felt more in that area?  does that make sense?  I may have to try it out if you haven't figured it out yet...

Ohoh... or you could probably needle felt the pattern without adding any wool, thus achieving an area of more densely felted wool?  that might work too...
7515  FIBER ARTS / Felting: Discussion and Questions / partial superwash batt, will it felt? on: December 27, 2009 04:35:55 PM
Okay so question is of course right there. ^
I don't know the percentage of superwash, but its superwash merino, merino, bamboo, linen and bombyx silk.  It's gorgeous and wants to be a scarf, but not so much a kint or crocheted scarf, but nuno felted.  Can this batt be what it wants to be, or am I best off spinning it against it's will?
7516  FIBER ARTS / Felting: Completed Projects / Re: Wet Felted Slippers on: December 27, 2009 04:16:21 PM
Love em!! I've yet to jump into wet felted slippers, but I know I really want to, this might push me over the edge!  They are great!

eta: Shade of Shadow, there is a way you can make two slippers at once.  I can't remember where I found the link,   but I know it was here on craftster!
7517  FIBER ARTS / Felting: Completed Projects / Re: Felt lungs and felt blanket on: December 27, 2009 04:13:48 PM
I love the first piece!  I wouldn't say its a flop at all!
The lungs are great!  what ever you do with them, I'm sure it'll be great!
7518  FIBER ARTS / Felting: Completed Projects / Re: First attempt at nuno felting on: December 27, 2009 04:10:18 PM
beautiful!  I'd love to see it lain out.  I've only nuno felted one item, and I think I used to much wool, but it sure was fun!
