7373  Craft Swaps / ARCHIVE OF SWAPS THAT ARE TOTALLY FINISHED / Re: Sock Monkey/ Sock Critter Swap on: February 13, 2010 05:01:58 PM
I would love a sock monkey, but I'm pretty sure I can't make oen.  Sad  I will have to stalk the gallery.

sock monkeys are super easy to make! I just made my first one out of a baby sock, hand  stiched it all  too.  Took me maybe 2 hours?  so you don't neccesarily need a sewing machine for it!

might join.... could use  a sock monkey for the oldest boy... He likes getting thngs in the mail.......

This cutey was made with the socks for my new little baby girl.  It's the smallest socks you can find (or at least I can find)  Anyway she is about 2.75 inches tall and from her butt to her toes is 2.5 inches long.  I added the felt heart, because it's near valentines day and yeah I have hearts with love written on them on the mind.   Roll Eyes
Anyway here she is, to cute!  In my hand for a bit of a size reference:

enjoy her sweetness!

beauty!
I actually have something to contribute!
My son and I spun this up on a lace weight spindle, mind you it's no where near laceweight, just straight from pencil roving (my heavier spindle is in use)  But it worked.  Anyway, I'm going to send this off to pluckyfluff... now I just have to figure out how to share this on ravelry too... I forget lol
Merino- pretty colors -??yards

happy fiber friday!
