I'm floored!!! My package from Cmarion showed up today, and I'm stunned!

The first thing I found was this amazing quilt.  It's stunning. It's perfect.  I absolutely love it.

And then there was also this little pouch ...

and inside the pouch was this little surprise box...

and inside the surprise box was this ADORABLE faery door!!  I have the perfect place for it too.

Thank you so much cmarion3, you've spoiled me. <3 <3 <3

 Grin  My piece from Oddacity!

I love it.  It's beaded on handspun, with hand made, hand embroidered and beaded felt.  It's great! And I can wear it long, or short! Very versatile

Thanks Oddacity!!

35  Paleo friendly Apple Cake-ina-Cup in Dessert by Belladune on: March 10, 2015 09:08:32 AM
I've been having mad cravings for cake or cookies or muffins lately, and seeing as my body detests grains of all kinds I was glad to see a post by The Paleo Mom on Facebook for a paleo version of the mug cakes you see all the time.

I adjusted the recipe just a tiny bit to my liking by adding just a pinch of baking soda (gluten and corn free, of course) omitting the nuts (why add more nuts when you're using almond flour? jmho) and chose to use maple syrup instead of honey. (the first 4 times... the 5th time I used honey, and it seemed to settle on the bottom a bit, making the bottom a weird texture... maybe I didn't stir it enough.)
I've also learned that you need to be sure to use a larger mug... But it sure does kick those cake cravings right in the bum!

I received 2 wonderful cuff bracelets from RovingAnarchist on Friday!  And I love them!  The blue one with the silver ribbon is awesome, I wore it most of today! (had to take it off to do the dishes Wink )  She added some chocolates and bunny ears for the kids (not pictured)

Thanks again,  Roving Anarchist!

37  Moar Dyed Scarves in Dyeing: Completed Projects by Belladune on: December 04, 2014 08:12:52 PM
Lets start with probably my favourite....

This one's striped the long way, It's a little hard to tell in these pics I notice now...

Triangle Shawl:

Worn as Scarf:

real shibori! folded like crazy, and was selective on where the dye went.

Wear it like this:
Or like this:

And one more for tonight.. This one I knotted and threw in the dye bath

These scarves are so cozy...

38  So many scarves.... Super picture overload... in Dyeing: Completed Projects by Belladune on: October 17, 2014 08:00:19 PM
I've decided I love doing this. Not more then spinning yarn, but it does provide a rather satisfying break from that when my legs go numb.....

This first set is 100% 19 micron merino wool. I start with pre-felt, and roll or fold or scrunch the scarf before dyeing it. Sort of like willy nilly shibori.  (vs. real shibori dyeing)

These two found new homes before they got the fancy photo shoot. But you can see the patterning on the black/grey/orange/red one was STUNNING.

These one's use the same technique, but they are 80% merino wool and 20% silk.  The different pre-felt acted a bit differently then the 100% wool, leaving these ones way longer and skinnier. But still lovely.

I'm sure there will be more... I do have another 15 meters of the pre-felt to play with after all.... >.>

Yay yarn! well done Mel!

I got distracted at the end there!  This is my final picture, minus the green yarn, it went to a new home before i remembered I needed a picture.

ETA: My final yardage spun (including ply tally) was 2648 yards!

Awe! Don't feel that way! There are other life things that have to happen (like laundry and kid chasing and everything else) that get in the way.  I stayed up way past my bed time to spin, and am paying for it in other ways.

Yesterdays efforts are pretty amazing tho.. But I didn't have to leave the house.  I think that helped.
