My end of term project dump is here...

Class/Challenge/House Pride: Alchemy
SPEW: N/A
House: Ravenclaw
Project Name: June BuJo Setup
Brief Description: I have tried in the past to use a traditional planner.  While in school they worked well enough to track classes and assignments; but once I graduated the no longer suited my needs well.  Over the years I have tried many different planners, and calendars with varying degrees of success.  Then about a year ago I started hearing things about bullet journals.  I was skeptical and thought that it would require so much extra work because it didnt come pre-printed.  Well I finally took the plunge this past March and Im loving it!  Yes there is more prep time and work involved but its serving me well and I like that everyday is a fresh start. Here is my set up for June and the first weekly pages (I'm still learning on what works best from me layout wise, there are a couple of spreads that I'm using from Boho Berry, because they are working well for me at the moment).

SPEW: N/A
House: Ravenclaw
Project Name: Prancing Pony Sign
Brief Description: Businesses need signs to communicate to passers by what is inside.  Even fictional businesses.  My partner in the latest Middle Earth Swap wanted a sign like the one hanging outside the Prancing Pony Inn.  I re-created this sign using some scrap wood.  I distressed it using a dremmel and sander, then painted the image. Hopefully if she hangs it outside she wont have to many wayward hobbits stopping by looking for a nice ale and lodgings for the night.

SPEW: N/A
House: Ravenclaw
Project Name: Three Geeky Notebooks
Brief Description: This spring I participated in the Undercover Fandom Swap.  My partner mentioned that she would like some office supplies so I decided to make her three hand bound mini notebooks representing some of her favorite fandoms. I used comic book backers for the covers and colored them with varying shades of distress inks. I then added the pages and bound the books using a saddle stitch. I then pressed the books and when I took them out some of the inks had changed giving them a more distresses look.  I used my Cricut to cut vinyl logos from Orphan Black, Arrow, and Gilmore Girls and affixed them to the fronts of the journals.

Class/Challenge/House Pride: Care of Magical Creatures
SPEW: N/A
House: Ravenclaw
Project Name: Blackout Curtains
Brief Description: My house has two large skylights in the living room, in the winter its great to have the extra light in the house; but during the summer it can be a bit much. I created two curtains to fill the opening at the bottom of the skylight using blackout fabric and some home decor weight linen.  I inserted tension rods and hung them up. So far they are working well to keep the living room cooler and keeping the sun from beating down on you while you sit on the sofa.

Class/Challenge/House Pride: Charms
SPEW: N/A
House: Ravenclaw
Project Name: Yellow Coconut Chicken Curry
Brief Description: I made this slow cooked dish back for Iron Hogwarts Curry, but then ran out of time to submit it. The curry itself slow cooks for 4-5 hours; but just to make things take longer I made my own yellow curry paste and let that sit in the refrigerator for a couple of days to let the flavors develop.  You can find the recipe for the curry here and for the curry paste here

Project Name: Valentines
Brief Description: I made these little hedgehug valentines to send out for the Slytherin Valentine swap.

Project Name: Paneer
Brief Description: Something I have always wanted to try but never had was cheese making. I love paneer; but it often expensive when you can find it; so I decided to make some. I used the recipe from Claudia Luceros book, One-hour Cheese.

Ingredients:
1/2 c. lime juice (plus 2 extra tablespoons to adjust for varying acidity)
1 gallon whole cows milk (not ultra-paturized)
1 Tbsp curry powder
2 Tbsp flake salt or to taste

Supplies:
1/2 cup
1 Tbsp
Large colander or mesh strainer
Fine cheesecloth
Large heat-resistant bowl
5-quart stockpot
Large whisk
Cooking thermometer
Large mixing spoon
Small flat plate
Milk gallon jug filled with water, for pressing cheese

Instructions:
1. Measure 1/2 c lime juice and set aside.
2. Line your colander with cheesecloth. Place a bowl underneath is you want to collect the whey, otherwise, place the lined colander in you clean sink.
3. Pour the milk into the pot. Set aside the empty gallon to use later as a press weight.
4. Add the curry powder to the milk and whisk to stir thoroughly.
5. Heat the milk, on ,medium, to 200F. Stay close and monitor the heat, stirring every few minuted to prevent a skin from forming on the surface of the milk and to check for sticking milk at the bottom.
6. Add the lime juice then you reach 200F, and stir well.
7. Coagulation should happen within seconds - and it is dramatic, so if you do not see it right away, confirm the temperature and add more lime juice, a tablespoon at a time, until you see coagulation.
8. When coagulation has occurred, lower the heat and gently stir the curds for 2 minutes.
9. Gently spoon or pour the curds into the cheesecloth and let them drain for 3 to 5 minutes or until they resemble scrambled eggs.
10. Add the salt and stir throughly but quickly.
11. Gather the cheesecloth corners and twist them to create a tight bundle, then squeeze to release ore whey.
12. Press the curd bag into the colander and firly place a small, flat plate or lid on top.
13. Fill the empty milk jug with water and ice it as a weight on top of the plate. Press the paneer for at least 15 minutes. The longer it presses and cools, the firmer the paneer will be.

Class/Challenge/House Pride: Potions
SPEW: N/A
House: Ravenclaw
Project Name: Plush Kuchi Kopi Nightlight
Brief Description: Many cartoons are absurd. Bobs Burgers is one of them. My partner in the Undercover Fandom Swap listed it as one of her favorite shows. I decided to make her a plush version of Louises Kuchi Kopi Nightlight. Because, why not?

Class/Challenge/House Pride: Transfiguration
SPEW: N/A
House: Ravenclaw
Project Name: Green Leaf Pouch
Brief Description: Leaves turning green is a sure fire way to tell then spring is on the way.  I made this leaf pouch for the Middle Earth Swap. I used some green canvas to cut out two leaf shapes. I then used a very close zig zag stitch to add the veining on the leaf. I then added a lining and a zipper.

and on an unrelated note, is anyone else getting ads on the bottoms of the posted images? I noticed this recently and checked to make sure my Fanatic Friend of Craftster is up to date and it is... just wondering.

I was seeing some on mobile for a while; you could check out the ** Report Questionable Ads Here ** thread.

Thanks jellybean!

I'm seeing them on some, but not all pictures.  If there are multiple images in a post I see the ad on the last image. If there is only one image I see it on that one.

I'm using Safari (Mac) version 10.1.1 and iOS version 10.3.2

Thanks!

The Door Knocker's Riddle...
Here on earth it is true, yesterday is always before today; but there is a place where yesterday always follows today. Where?

The Ultimate Muggle Summer!
I have been told that many muggle families create a summer "bucket list". A bucket list is all the things they want to do before everyone heads back to school in the fall. After an exhaustive search of muggle summer customs I have created a bucket list for us to attempt. Anyone who wants to participate is welcome to; just snap a pic of yourself (or family and friends) completing items and upload them.

This will of course not count towards house points unless you combine the bucket list task with something that would already have counted towards your homework. The point is to get out there and have some fun!

I will keep a tally and at the end of the summer whoever has had the Ultimate Muggle Summer will win a prize that is yet to be determined!

1. Make popsicles.
2. Enjoy the sunset from the front porch.
3. Run through the sprinklers.
4. Cook your entire meal on the grill.
5. Build a bonfire.
6. Have a water balloon fight.
7. Ride a ferris wheel.
8. Go swimming.
9. Wear a flower crown.
10. Build a sand castle.
11. Spend an afternoon coloring.
12. Fly a kite.
13. Eat the perfect peach.
14. Bake a pie.
15. Plant an herb garden.
16. See some fireworks.
17. Make s'mores.
18. Go to a fair.
19. Watch fireflies.
20. Go for a bike ride.
21. Visit a farmer's market.
22. Play frisbee.
23. Go to an amusement park.
24. Eat an ice cream sundae.
25. Spend some time alone to just relax.
