Apple bananas are supposed to smell faintly like apples. I can't say they really do and they don't taste like apples either. They are delicious, not as sweet as the long ones and more tangy.

With two kids graduating this year, I have turned into a lei making machine.

Candy leis for the friends:
9 red vines leis

14 gummy crawlers lei:

And this is what I found in one of the worm candy bags:

Ah, ah, a shark in the bag. I was lucky there were still worms inside! Grin I am still laughing...

Origami stars leis:

Single and double braided ribbon leis:

That's what I harvested in the garden:

Apple bananas. Since they ripened as soon as my husband left on a working trip, I tried to slow their rate of ripening. I cut the hands.

I put the greenest ones in the darkest and less warm place I could think of: the tool closet and the other hands in different rooms in the house. I gave some to the neighbors and to the nice military guy who teaches my son French horn.
They are delicious but who wants to eat a whole regime of bananas by herself? Luckily, my husband came back today and really put a dent on the supplies!

Lovely turtle painting. It reminds me I hope to go snorkeling soon and see turtles and fish but no jellyfish please.
Can you spot the turtle resting on this picture taken a few years ago?

Audio, my cat would love your ironing table, it looks quite comfy. Wink You found a very attractive fabric, I would make myself a blouse with it. It's beautiful. It reminds me I should recover my ironing table since it has suffered from the last incident involving an adult child, a teenager, an iron and the table.

Lots of great stuff, Rantyhippie. my favorite is the summer quilt with its lively and cheerful colors. The mermaid tail is quite funny, can you actually put your legs in it?

I forgot to put a picture of this years cascarones. The parrot managed to steal the submarine spot so you will see him twice and no submarine at all.

16  Easter eggs or cascarones in Easter by yoopidou on: March 28, 2016 01:45:48 AM
I made a bunch of cascarones. At first, I only spray painted them, inside and out. Inside so the crumbled shell doesn't stand out in white amidst the confetti. But I was encouraged to make them look nicer. Some are inspired by the internet and some came entirely from my imagination. My husband painted five of these. Now, they look too nice and the kids are reluctant to break them!

What a fun care package Butterflyangel. I like how you decorated the box inside, it will be a surprise when opening it.

I finished January with some cooking and started gardening in February.
I made some guavas and strawberry-guavas jams and a kind of French pate called rillettes.

I also found old stevia plants on sale at the gardening store that I am trying to save. I also started drying some leaves for the next tea.

and I'm quite proud of my creation: the plumeria potatoes.

Agreed Underthemountain, stevia is delicious. I had a plant and couldn't resist munching on a leaf every time I passed by. Your creamer seems so good, I would drink it without the coffee, Lindy! Granted, I don't like coffee.

Freakie, the little shoes are adorable.

I went hiking these last two days and picked coffee beans for my husband and strawberry guavas. So, I made strawberry guava jam.

Although he claimed he would neither like nor eat it, guess what my husband put in is yogurt this morning! Wink

A couple years ago, I bought a ski jacket at the end of the season. It was for men and size 3X and I'm a woman size medium but it was dirt cheap! So cheap I couldn't pay more than 10 times more for a women jacket my size. It was really too big so I improved it. I used old ski pants to lengthen the sleeves. Since it was orange and black, I turned it into a Tiger jacket. I also sprayed waterproofing on it.

I also made a hat with remnants of fleece from my daughter's teenage fleece creative period and a neck warmer from a piece of white fur that never turned into the owl it was supposed to become.

And that's the result:
with the hat only

and with the hood

The jacket is still too wide but I can put lots of stuff in the pockets. I might improve that for next year.
