Here's pictures of the cowl I made  Grin The yarn was spun by the fabulous Freestyle. I love the color!

I also tinkered around with my new sewing machine and got it set up to do a basic straight stitch. I made a couple more pillows for my TM bag and when I get bored later I'll play around with all the different stitch functions! I got a "free walking foot" or something along that name, which I"m super excited about so I can try learning how to freestyle machine embroider.

Also I got some bins from ikea and have plans for getting more so I can organize my stash so it's neater and more visable. I'm totally going to be stash busting this year  Cheesy

I'm pretty happy with myself today  Grin I spent the last couple of days cutting out a ton of stencils and finally got to work with the iron and paint this evening. The nerdy one just has some water on it, I was impatient to take pictures lol

Also a little sneak peak of my in-progress TM bag - a bunch of pillows with embellishments done. I have some more pillows to go and some more fabric on the way to play with. I need to do some stenciling on those too.

I'm trying to make the most of my time off before school starts up again  Smiley

I got the most awesome custom bag from audio the other day! I mailed off the fabric to her and she made this beauty  Cheesy

The second picture is more true to the color. Thanks so much audio! I love it  Grin

Hey guys! I was wondering if there's any knitters out there that might be up to knitting up some quick and cozy socks for a guy who wears size 11.5 in mens shoes. I have some that I got in a swap a while back that are so toasty and they go almost up to my knees and would love to get some for my bf who's little piggies are freezing on a regular basis. Ideally they would be a little loose, almost like house slippers that just happen to go up to the knees  Smiley This isn't intended as an xmas gift so timing isn't too much of an issue, though I'd love them sooner than later - Michigan is settling into winter season and it's freezing outside!! Working out of stash is perfectly fine and I don't really care what color it is.

Here's the picture of the ones I have that I'd love recreated for my bf

Have a great day guys!  Wink

635  I love touching things so this is what happens in Completed Projects by sheepBlue on: December 08, 2010 02:05:54 PM
I am a very tactile person; I love textures that make me want to reach out and rub my fingers all over them...(sounds slightly inappropriate I know lol). That being said I love making things with my hands, especially with unusual materials so these are some things I've made in the last couple of months for myself, friends, or my 3-D design class.

This was for a found art project for 3-D Design. This is right up my alley and all the trinkets and beads/buttons used were all from stash... Roll Eyes Part of the concept was the idea of hoarders and the consumerism of society. Make what you will of it  Smiley

I also recently started experimenting with crocheting with wire which, although my hands don't thank me, gives really awesome results with the structure of a form and the ability to create further from that point. These are some jellyfish I made for a swap out of different colors and thicknesses of wire. I ran out near the end; I would have liked to have had more of the thin tentacles but I am happy with how it came out.

I also have fun making junk dolls out of whimsies and polymer clay, with paint and other stuff added for good measure.

Another project from 3-D design, we had to construct armor for an animal of our choosing...can you guess what I picked  Smiley I wish I would have had more time to put more detail into the armor so it was truly functional but we only had about a week and a half of class time to get it done.

Last one I swear: I made another day of the dead skull canvas - love these guys. Also for a swap partner.

I'd love to hear any thoughts or comments, faves, etc Cheesy

636  Teesha Moore Inspired bag - my first! in Purses, Bags, Wallets: Completed Projects: General by sheepBlue on: December 08, 2010 01:36:10 PM
I fell in love with Teesha Moore and her whimsical, fearless style and decided to make a bag for a recent swap partner. It should have taken a lot less time than it did, but with school work in the way it took me about a month and a halfish to get it done. Each panel was sewn separately by hand (though a quarter were partially machine sewed initially) and embroidered with beads, buttons, and whimsies. There is one panel I stenciled myself, and a few favorite tshirts I cut up to include fun graphics. I even did a lining (to hide all the thread ends and knots mostly) which is very basic but works. I will miss this bag forever, but that just means I have to make another one for myself  Smiley I'd love to hear any comments or suggestions for improvement on my next one, because, oh yes, there will be a next one  Grin
