11  Re: Personal/Private Swap Gallery, 2016 in The Swap Gallery by sheepBlue on: December 10, 2016 05:14:20 PM
Here's my haul from the epic Abbeeroad!

The main feature: two gorgeous rust dyed scarves. I am in love. The textures she created, the patterning, sooo swoon-worthy!

Then she went and did an awesome little weaving on a piece of rusty metal. I love it so much!!

Her hubs got in the game too and crafted two seriously bad-ass silverware rings for me. I wish I had a blacksmith in my house! I told Abby her timing couldn't be more perfect, because I was seriously eyeballing some silverware jewelry last week at a local shop and decided to pass - it must have been fate!

There was also this super cool mixed media pendant that really reminds me of Abby's prayer flags, except tiny and wearable. I love all the different elements and textures! She totally nailed my style

There were also these fun extras - a rusty dyed cloth mushroom that has joined all my other oddities on what is coming my "oddity" shelf  Cheesy A beautiful wood-burned spoon with a really intense design that is gorgeous, and hilariously a flamingo rubber ducky from her trip out to Vegas.

Lastly, she also made these super cool sewn scrappy cards - I love them!! I'm trying to figure out how she managed to sew all the tiny bits on (Abby I think a tutorial is needed!)

Thank you so much Abby for being an awesome friend and crafty companion! I am having so much fun chatting with you and look forward to our next swap!  Grin

Wow, loving the projects popping up! That kiss afghan is incredible!

I have a couple more things to share now  Smiley

An embroidered lotus necklace. It's really light and comfortable to wear.

And a peace sign ticker tape art quilt; wall hanging really. I have a lot more pictures on the post I made HERE.

I made this for Abbeeroad in a recent personal swap. It's backed with felt and I felt compelled to put a bit of sparkle in there too.

I made this recently for the fabulous Abbeeroad for a personal swap. It was very therapeutic to work on and meditate over.

Work in progress...

I specifically chose some of the fabric bits to reflect Abby's loves (such as Harry Potter, skulls, crafting), and the fringe was hand-beaded too  Smiley

Thanks for looking!

Project dump time! I've been a bit remiss in posting so just to give you an idea this is all stuff I've probably crafted in the last 2 months or so..

More snarky embroideries that went to a friend's tattoo shop  Cheesy

Embroidery for my sister's bathroom - she requested something snarky and who I am to deny the request?  Wink

A crocheted shawl - it's the "virus" pattern I found on a youtube tutorial. This is the first shawl I've made that I'm so completely in love with. The pattern isn't too complicated but has enough variation to be interesting visually.

A steampunk pendant. Made from bits and bobs I had around the house.

Lastly some safety pin jewelry - made in support of the safety pin movement. These got claimed up by my friends  Smiley

I have a few more things I'm sitting on until the swap package is received.  Smiley

16  Re: Hoopla A-Long 2013-until the END OF TIME in Needlework: Stitchalongs by sheepBlue on: November 11, 2016 11:44:43 AM
I finished a hoopla that I'm gifting my sister for Christmas. While the quote has nothing to do with forests, I embellished it with some fancy foliage that ties in  Smiley (for anyone curious, she just moved out of our parents place for the first time ever, and is decorating her new place and wanted something snarky for the bathroom - I, of course, took on the challenge haha).

Disregard my last request  Roll Eyes I forgot that loves has project bags in her shop! And now that I've claimed one I'm reopened with two new scarves in!
