1  CROCHET / Crochet: Discussion and Questions / Re: Unknown crochet symbol on: May 23, 2013 10:29:06 AM
That's the clearest translation I've seen so far! I tried looking it up kanji by kanji, but my grammar isn't good enough. Google gave me "Ju in knitting knitted twin-lens thin braided chain stitch I put the fine knitting knitting", which wasn't very helpful. Tongue Unfortunately, your translation also isn't clear enough to replicate the stitch.

@ alwaysinmyroom: That would be great! Below is a photo of what the finished work should look like.

Edit: After googling "braided chain stitch crochet" I found a website that might be quite close to what I'm looking for! The blue one is made with a half-double crochet and 2 chains, and it seems to create a circular shape similar to the one in the above picture.
2  CROCHET / Crochet: Discussion and Questions / Unknown crochet symbol on: May 22, 2013 08:15:12 AM
Hi all,

I hope someone can help me out here. When I went to Japan, I bought several Japanese crochet books. Seen as they always include a chart I thought that the language difference wouldn't be a problem. The project I'm doing right now, though, has a stitch in it that I have never seen before and that I have not found on any stitch-overview-lists yet. It's the lowest one on the first picture: It looks like a half-double crochet with 2 chains, between two normal single crochets. I've also included a photo of it in the pattern itself.

Anyone know the name of the stitch, or perhaps even how to make it?

Hmmm, yummy! :9
Chocolate chips don't sound that strange to me. I sometimes make pancakes with pesto, paprika and cheese. Smiley Pancakes with bacon are really good too! Smiley

They're really cute!  Smiley How do you get the blocks to keep their square shape? I made a couple of stress balls a while ago using 6 squares and they turned out round. No problem considering their purpose, but I was wondering what I had to do to make them squary.
