How do you get your applique so perfect? They look so professional! I am new to this, so I am still toying with the idea of appliques. Maybe you can give me some tips.

Very cute! The second picture looks like a scene from A Christmas Story. Great vintage look. Just don't let him shoot his eye out! Grin
129  CLOTHING / Clothing for Kids: Completed Projects / My first (successful) recon.....and a very pleased little one! on: August 31, 2008 03:45:14 PM
I have been lurking around the boards for a while getting ideas and looking at the AMAZING items created by you guys. I initially started this recon as a shirt for my older daughter, but it didn't fit when finished, so, VOILA!, a new dress for the little tot. It is a shirt from Goodwill. The red is from another t-shirt, and the trim is from a thrift shop.....ALL reused materials! I am happy with the results.

Let me shut up and show the pics...

The hint of red behind the white lace is ricrac sandwiched behind the lace.

The dark lace is actually navy blue, but it works.
