1  CLOTHING / Costumes: Discussion and Questions / Cosplaying, which I could use some help on :) on: September 07, 2009 01:21:43 AM
Hi! I'm planning on sewing a costume for cosplay really soon! And I need some suggestions on what kind of fabric to use!

Here is some reference:
http://imagecache5.art.com/p/LRG/21/2115/Y14ED00Z/devil-may-cry--nero-and-dante.jpg (guy in the foreground. For some reason, his coat doesn't have red lining here, but it does in other pictures... Oh well...)
http://i301.photobucket.com/albums/nn66/Ramito_album/copyofd68up6.jpg (guy to the right)

I have seen people cosplaying as Nero (as his name is) using denim for the coat and pants and vinyl/PVC/pleather for the vest/hoodie thing. I don't like this however and I'm searching for some alternatives. So I turn to the most experienced people I readily can ask for help Smiley

Also, I want to ask you if you have any pattern suggestions for the coat. Keep in mind that I am a female, so it shouldn't be too big.

I appreciate any help Smiley
2  COOKING / Recipes and Cooking Tips / Bento box help? on: December 31, 2008 06:09:09 PM
Hi! We're a couple of girls who really would like to get us some bento boxes. Any recommendations?
3  JEWELRY AND TRINKETS / Trinkets and Jewelry: Completed Projects: General / Paper star earrings and clay star earring. on: July 20, 2008 05:55:59 AM
Somewhere on the net some time ago I found someone who had made a couple of earrings out of paperstar that you can make with a strip of paper. Sadly I can't remember where I found this but I decided to make a pair myself when I learned how to make the stars. (If you think you know where I might have seen this please let me know so I can give proper credits Smiley )

Here they are, I think they turned out cute. Smiley They aren't water resistant though, so I can't wear them if it's raining Tongue

I thought I'd add this, even though I know that it says in this subforum that polymer things should be put in the polymer clay forum. I just though I'd put it here so I didn't have to make two threads for almost the same thing.

I like this on it turned out cute, and I'm not very good at polymer clay so shaping it into a star without anything to help me, but my hands, was a bit hard.

Dino (sorry for the slightly blurred pictures...)
4  POTTERY, CERAMICS, POLYMER CLAY / Polymer Clay: Completed Projects / First projects in clay! on: July 15, 2008 12:39:04 PM
I have to introduce myself, I'm usually known as Dino on community's that I'm a member of. I'm a 17 year old female. Tongue
Oh, and I live in Norway.

These are my first completed projects in fimo clay (the same as polymer I suppose).

Can you tell I like Mario? Cheesy The pictures are kind of bad, because of my crappy lightning...

Anyway, the Yoshi medallion thing is flat, I drew Yoshi on a piece of paper, cut it out and traced it on a piece of flat clay. I painted it by hand after it had been in the oven.
The piranha plant was pretty simple and I'm really happy with it. It sits in a small ceramic pot I bought at my local craftshop and painted green.
I made the chain chomp after my cousin told I should, to add to the collection, you know.

What do you think?
5  SEWING IN GENERAL / Sewing Machines: Discussion and Questions / Sewing machine for a beginner? on: July 15, 2008 12:10:31 PM
Hooray, my lurking days are over!

Anyway, I have finally talked my mother into getting us a sewing machine! I've been wanting one for a while now. I've been lurking around this forum, hoping to pick up some tips on stuff and I thought that now I'm finally getting a sewing machine I'd join up and prepare myself  Wink

Anyway, I live in Norway and I suppose we've got different brands of sewing machines here, but I'll write a quick list of the most common ones we have. And I want to receive a few tips on which ones are good, if you have them.

Husqvarna (I think this one only exists in Norway tho)
Pfaff (a German brand I believe)

Feel free to recommend others as well, but I'm not sure any others are available in Norway.

Thanks Smiley
