1  REUSING/RECYCLING/RECRAFTING / What the heck can I do with THIS? / Re: Beautiful coasters on: July 10, 2008 04:49:21 AM
You could make an acrylic box.  You need a high density acrylic sheet  If coaster are round cut 6 squares just a touch wider than the coasters and one smaller square to get the size of this you need to take of the 2 x thickness of the acrylic This is the inside of the top of the lid .  Then glue together the box Then attach the coasters . If coaters are square i would add an inch to the size of the square fo the main squares of the box . This will give it a framed look.  Use one of the coasters on the top  and small clear acrylic doornob

Tie dye them different colours cut them into squares and do a rag quilt. Cut squares 5 3.4 inches Cut wadding 5 inches . Center wadding in between two squares and sew across diagonally from corner to corner to greate a cross. When you have enough squares you sew them together where the wadding ends . When you have sewn the quilt together  cut around the edge of each seam approx every quater inch , wash a few times to start the edges fraying
you can see one here
http://dmitchell.homestead.com/files/best_quilt__2.jpg  ( not mine) You can also make a rag bag  sew together 3 sqaures for the base  9 squares for the front and 9 for the back  and 3 for each side. Cut some strips of the dyed sheet and plat them together to make handles
