Made this for a swap. for a small piece, it sure took me awhile! I ordered a horse from the internet and painted her over. The unicorn horn is a toothpick. the wings are from a moth I found dried up on the attic windowsill. I looked for several hours for such a moth and thought I might find dozens. so when I got just one, I was sooo nervous that I would ruin the wings while glueing them on.
I melded together numerous blue, grey, and white embroidery flosses and created the waterfall at the left... did not get such a good pic of that, tho...http://www.craftster.org/pictures/data/500/medium/143364_01Aug14_SS850373.JPG
The above pic shows the simple lid of the tin. I covered it with fabric, then let one bit show thru by covering that with a piece of sycamore bark with its typical hole in the middle. I am obsessed with creating things with sycamore bark!
I had such fun choosing mini branches as I wandered my property. I had one that would have been the most stunning tree evar but its branches were so numerous that I could not put enuf others in to create a real forest feel.
thanks for looking!!
