14  Flannel Sunrise in Completed Projects by blupaisan on: March 09, 2017 05:57:51 AM

I was gonna post this in the More Art Less Craft section but to me if felt quite the opposite.... more craft, less art.
So here it is.
I worked on a flannel outfit for a party and had many different colors and bits left over, so decided to follow the fling I have been having lately with collage and use fabric instead.
I stuck to the same basic technique of using watered down glue to fasten it to the canvas, which was yet another Goodwill find that I simply painted over to make blank and fresh.

I fought many times about what should or should not go in the lake or at the edge of the lake. At one point I had a person in a canoe in the middle but nixed it because I liked just the nature aspect with no one around.
The canvas it about 14 by 14 inches.

thanks for looking!!!

15  disolving old makeup so I can haz compact ready for altering in Discussion and Questions by blupaisan on: March 08, 2017 11:29:17 AM

This is one of Mom's old makeup compacts. I have washed it as best I can, using various detergents, toothbrushes, and even boiling water.
I wanna alter it but have no idea how i can deal with the stubborn bits of makeup still embedded in the thing! makeup is super greasy. I even had to throw out the toothbrush after using it.

thanks for any suggestions.

I made some very silly childlike sounds in my car as I opened the box from JoyfulClover yesterday.
This adorable gal popped out of the wrapping and really made me smile.
WTF? She proclaims with a smile on her face.

she is totally poseable which rocks so hard.
Joyful, are the feet painted with the little MaryJanes? it is one of my favorite features.
There is something about her strong back and posture, seen in this second picture, that delights me. She is obviously in her element.

wonderful face.
my favorite color is all over the place here, which makes me happy.
She is very very well made.

thank you so much, JoyfulClover!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
and also thanks for the vintage postcards, I love them.

JS claimed me for a curtain for the wee window in my entry door. I live in a converted camp, just the one door, and not a whole lot of insulation for the cold VT winters!
I am housesitting elsewhere for a bit so cannot show off the probable perfect fit of the curtain, but here it is shown in its beauty here where I am working...

I had material picked out on my Pinterest page and am soooo happy she chose this!
I spend nearly as much time volunteering with kitties as I do working for money.
My left thumb has had numerous surgeries so I cannot manipulate things well at all. This is why I asked for big tabs to make it easy to put the curtain on and move it.

They are so perfectly crafted!
And to boot...

There is some seriously insulated backing on it, that comes off for summer!!! On cold mornings, I take pretty pictures of the ice on the INSIDE of the glass. This insulation will combat the effects of that.

Thank you so very much, JS!!!!!!!  Hugs to you!!

19  Re: Altered Tea Tin Swap Gallery in The Swap Gallery by blupaisan on: February 18, 2017 05:15:28 PM
I opened mine from bookstorebabe today and am so pleased with what she made.

I love nature, trees, and of course the sun and moon and all those were in the tin.

here is the sunny side.

the gorgeous lid

and the moon side.
she thoughtfully put in a bag of beads to replace any that fell off during transit but none were needed. It arrived in perfect condition.
I love also that it is large! I am thinking coffee inside, so I get to pop it out of the cupboard each and every morn!
thanks so much, bookstorebabe!!!!

20  cat den... I love them EVERY day, not just the 14th in Valentine's Day by blupaisan on: February 03, 2017 03:24:58 PM

Just in time, I finished my Valentines Day present for the kitties I love so dearly.

Here are some process pics...
I found a heavy duty cardboard barrel marked FREE by the roadside.

practically broke my wrist cutting two holes with a small saw.
Drilled four holes and cut dowels to go in to support a round shelf, also cut (but tons easier!) from a piece of wallboard

My boyfriend who works at a volunteer ambulance found some cut-everything scissors in my favorite color and gave them to me for Christmas. They usually cut clothing off of a patient. This time, they dealt with carpeting!

While gluing the carpet on, I used all sorts of weights, one of which was a pumpkin, still hanging around from harvest time.

Here is Bugs, an outdoor kitty who randomly comes to visit. He is checking out the place for the first time. He is enormous compared to my two small girls.
This shows the poly rope that is in a lot of places as a protective border.

Rope made prettier by dots of red nail polish. The drawings on the carpet are done with fat fabric markers. My two girls, Cirquie above and DandiGirl below where she is interested in the circle hole because she hears "crinkle paper' in there.

thanks for looking and Happy Valentines Day to all two and four legged lovers of Craftster!!
