2  KNITTING / Knitting: Discussion and Questions / help with a dog sweater please! on: August 21, 2010 02:43:02 PM

i have been knitting for quite a few years but can only really understand basic patterns. i am trying to knit the i-matey dog sweater (free from bernat.com) but i don't understand this one part. i have put the part i don't understand in blue.

Shape Leg Openings and Place Chart: 1st row: K4 (5-6-10). Cast off next 4 (5-6-9) sts. K8 (12-14-27) (including st on needle after cast off).
Work Chart A (A-B-B) across next 20 (20-26-26) sts reading row from right to left. K8 (12-14-27). Cast off next 4 (5-6-9) sts. Knit to end of row.
Note: All Leg Sections are worked at the same time using a separate ball of yarn for each section (keeping continuity of chart throughout). Beg with a purl row work 1 (1-2-2) ins [2.5 (4-5-6) cm] even from cast off sts (keeping continuity of chart), ending with RS facing for next row.

so does this mean that i need to skip the stitches before the first cast off section and after the second cast off section? or am i supposed to knit them?

if someone could help me that would be greatly appreciated! Grin

3  Archive of Past Craftster Challenge Entries / CHALLENGE 48 ENTRIES / gnome of tiny proportion! on: March 06, 2010 08:00:15 PM
this is my first time entering a challenge.  i love tiny things and when i saw that there was a challenge to make something tiny, i knew it was the perfect challenge for me! i have wanted to try to make really small amirgurumi's for awhile but haven't gotten around to trying it. i think gnomes are awesome and figured he'd be easy enough to do for my first tiny ami. here he is at 1 1/8".

i think he's super cute.  Grin thanks for checking him out!
4  TOYS, DOLLS AND PLAYTHINGS / Toys, Dolls and Playthings: Completed Projects / doom doom doom doom doom.... (tiny sized gir) on: January 20, 2010 07:56:34 AM
gir in his doggy suit

i made this as a gift for a big invader zim fan. he's no bigger than 6" from his feet to the top of his ears (4" not including the ears). i think he's so cute (much cuter in person). i love him so much so it's a good thing the one receiving it lives with me! :oD he's hand swen using fleece for almost all of him and felt for the ears, tongue and zipper.
Here is a shot of the back with his cute tail. <3
Thanks for looking!

7  COOKING / Dessert / Tubby little buddy all stuffed with cake on: November 18, 2009 07:47:46 AM

i was asked to make a cake for my friends daughters first birthday. she wanted it to be Winnie the Pooh themed and to be a chocolate cake (so it would be messy!) i know that not everyone likes chocolate cake, so i made some vanilla cupcakes with color specks inside. i used buttercream icing on the cake and cupcakes. the pooh faces and the bee are fondant and the butterflies and the letters are chocolate. i am just starting to self learn how to decorate so i'm pretty happy with how it turned out.

a close up of the bee and cupcakes.

thanks for looking.  Smiley
