21  CLOTHING / Designer Clothing Homage / Re: Betsey Johnson Tea Party Dress on: June 04, 2009 03:31:16 PM
Beautiful!  I'm super jelous.  Did you make the dress then attach the layers to it, or is it composed of just the layers?

What a cool piece!  Really creative and well executed!  It must have been a pain to bring to school.  What was the reception by your prof and peers?

oooh!  this is beautiful!  I love all the colors/fabric you chose. Kind of reminds me of stained glass. Great job!

I acutally called it a "Stained Glass Quilt" on the submission form!

We're having a craft silent auction to benefit united way where I work and this was my submission!  It got a little extra crazy because I agreed to do it before I found out the deadline was 3 weeks away!  I still had a great time working on this coloful quilt.  It is about 50" X 70".  I used cotton batting which has a nice effect but while I was quilting it lint got just everywhere!   I washed it when I was done but I still couldn't get it lint free.  Anyone have any suggestions?

The auction ends Friday, I hope it brings in a little money.  They actually asked for a "suggested retail value" but I just didn't feel comfortable giving one.  We'll see what happens.

Thanks for looking!
