1951  ORGANIZED CRAFT SWAPS / New Swap Theme Ideas / Re: Run away with the circus! Circus skills swap? on: May 02, 2010 04:20:17 AM
Awesome dustyfro!

I'm still planning on having sign ups in June, and a good long crafting time. Any thoughts on sending requirements? Do you all like a points system?

I'd vote for June.

I've been stalking this swap and am so inspired by the lovelies over in the gallery! I made one for me, just to see if I could figure out how, so hopefully I'll catch the next round!

1954  QUILTING / Quilting: Completed Projects / Re: Very colorful Jared Takes a Wife Quilt on: April 25, 2010 04:58:53 PM
I love quilts like this that you could just keep looking at and find something new. I feel like there is just enough coordination in this to prevent it looking totally random, and it really works!
1955  MORE ART, LESS CRAFT / More Art, Less Craft: Completed Works / Re: Vegetable Love on: April 25, 2010 01:01:07 PM
I really like your pictures! What kind of camera do you have?

Hooray I'm excited about this feature! And I really appreciate the tape measure menu fix as well.
THANK YOU! Cheesy
1957  CLOTHING / Clothing: Completed Projects: General / Re: The Mean Reds Reducing Dress! on: April 12, 2010 01:32:10 PM
That's adorable! It actually makes me want to try using a pattern, which is rare.

I love when people use my ideas! Yeah, I was wandering the isles of the cheapo store, thinking, "Towels? Boxes? Cleaning cloths? Foam shelf liners?" before I hit upon the perfect thing.
1959  MISCELLANEOUS TOPICS / Craftalongs / Re: craftalong to, post a project on every completed projects board in craftster on: April 11, 2010 03:52:54 PM
I've been quiet in this craftalong for a while, but I've been looking at everything you all put up! It's very inspiring to see people crafting outside their comfort zones. I haven't been able to do all I want to do, because I'm studying abroad until the end of May. But I knew I would hate to be separated from my crafting supplies for ten weeks, so I brought along a little candy box full of embroidery floss and my travel sewing kit in a match tin. I'm very glad I did! While I was sick for a few days I did a little stitching on my jacket - I'm waiting to post it over there until I do a few more sections, but for now I'm counting it as done.

I also managed to squeeze out a camera case - full story in the post proper:

Potholder to camera case!

OK well, that's seven categories for me so far - I guess I'll be busy this summer!
1960  PURSES, BAGS, WALLETS / Purses, Bags, Wallets: Completed Projects: Reconstructed / Potholder to camera case (low supplies crafting) on: April 11, 2010 03:49:12 PM

So I'm currently an ocean away from almost all of my crafting array; the only things I brought were a candy box full of embroidery floss and a metal matches tin of sewing things. After my old camera kicked the electronic equivalent of the bucket, I decided that perhaps I should safeguard the new one somehow (ie, not just wrap it in a napkin and throw it in my backpack). Not wanting to purchase even more things however, I picked up a potholder for 1 (just noticed it was half off!), mostly because it had built-in padding.

It didn't have quite the right dimensions - so I trimmed it and reattached the binding:

(That picture was probably truest to color out of them all.) Then I stitched it in half with contrasting embroidery thread (light blue):

And found a snap in my tiny little sewing kit (also, french knots are my go-to embellishment):

And there y'are! It even has a little loopy so I could clip it to my belt or whatnot.

No action shots, because it's a camera case, and, well... yeah. Anyway. Thanks for checkin' it out!
