"Never doubt that a small group of thoughtful, committed citizens can change the world. Indeed, it's the only thing that ever has."

Thanks for the compliments everyone!

I'm actually the same way, Muria! I just have trouble pacing myself. This quilt probably should have taken a week or so, but I pieced the entire top in a day, then did all the quilting in a day, and then the binding in a day as well. My back was sore and my fingers stiff, and my boyfriend had to keep reminding me to eat. But if I didn't finish it so fast it would never get done!

Yay! I'd do this!

Yup, my first actual quilt. I did few baby quilts, if you can call them that, in class in high school which didn't include any quilting or binding, just piecing and backing. And this one is pretty huge! I surprised I could manage it with my little Singer!

Whew, I've been away from this challenge from a month or so. But I'm back in and I finished a big one for me! A quilt! My first one. Unfortunately it's been quite rainy outside, so no pictures yet. Hopefully soon though!

First up we have this orange and white number, with one line of orange top stitching at the collar and two on the bottom. I can't believe I had that exact color of thread!

I sort of half-assed a pattern for the general size and the sleeves from another shirt that fits me. I started out with these two XLs, the white one that British Airlines gave me when they delayed my flight and the turtle one from a festival my friends have every summer. I used the original hems for the sleeves and the bottom, which made it easier.

This second one I didn't even pretend to use a pattern. All seams are outside and all edges are left raw.

Margaret Mead quote on the back...

This picture shows the side seams - I added strips of black on the red and vice versa.

Made from two shirts my grandfather gave me that fit, but were boring.

I have plenty of scraps left from both projects, mostly of black and white. Comments welcome!

Well if by "real life" you mean in a tank... I think they look pretty awesome in the wild! Look at the color-changeyness!

I'm up for any time! And pfd, I just had a vision of you doing a wire flux capacitor in the tree of life style.

So cute! I love how the patchwork goes up in diamonds instead of the straight squares layout.
