Class: Frog Choir
House: Hufflepuff
Project Name: Leafy seat cover
Project Page Link: https://www.craftster.org/forum/index.php?topic=428515.0
Brief Description: I've been trying to attract a frog to be my partner, but so far no luck. I can't get them to stick around once I find them! I'm hoping this seat, mimicking their natural environment, will help them feel more comfortable around me.

262  Seat cover for worn out computer chair in Crafty Housewares: Completed Projects: Reconstructed by Acadian Driftwood on: October 23, 2013 05:11:40 PM

My partner had this chair all through college, and the seat was getting very worn out. I didn't have the proper socket wrench to disassemble it, so I had to make a cover that fit over it.

I used a scrap of lovely barkcloth I had leftover from another project, and sandwiched it between black cloth I pillaged from a pair of dress pants.  Tongue The trick was, the seat of the chair has a fold on three sides, that goes in a few inches and then attaches to the base. I sewed a casing and threaded it with elastic to make it behave.

I like the end result, and so does he! Cheesy

Challenge: Ocboter Detention
House: Hufflepuff
Project Name: Foraged bittersweet wreath
Project Page Link: https://www.craftster.org/forum/index.php?topic=428101.0
Brief Description: While raking leaves in detention, I found all this bittersweet on the edge of the forest! This little wreath decoration is going to live with my grandmother soon.

Challenge: DA Fear of a Name
House: Hufflepuff
Project Name: Sgt. Pigeon ATC
Brief Description: All of my previous experiments with watercolors had turned out poorly, and I was intimidated by them since my mom does them so well! I finally buckled down and watched some tutorials on YouTube, and ended up with this ATC that I sent to her in the September swap. Smiley

Challenge: Bertie Bott's Apple
House: Hufflepuff
Project Name: Fresh applesauce
Brief Description: My mom has been working at an orchard, and she gave me a giant grocery bag full of seconds! I'd never made applesauce before, but ChameleonHound said you just overcook a bunch of apples and you're done. Cheesy So I filled up a big pot with sliced apples, and a cup of water, boiled for a while 'til the were very soft, and added cinnamon, brown sugar, and the zest and juice of a lemon. Blended it all up, and wow it turned out great! Especially loved it warm.

264  Foraged bittersweet wreath in Crafty Housewares: Completed Projects: General by Acadian Driftwood on: October 09, 2013 05:04:10 PM
Bittersweet vines grow up some trees and bushes around where I live. My grandfather asked me If I could use some to make a decoration for my grandmother's door, so I did up a small wreath!

The base is just a circle of vine, tied together with ribbon. Then I pasted on each small twig with hot glue. Then I dropped it while taking pictures, and glued it again! :p

It's the first wreath I've ever made, and it was pretty fun!

I received from kallium, "favorite theme from your own list." She made me 3 cards!! Two are for her theme "dyslexia" and one for "Disney."

The shiny letters say "If life gives you melons, you may be dyslexic." These are great kallium, thank you!

I also received from beautifulsoul, for my mushrooms theme. She also included some inchies and stickers!

Thank you beautifulsoul, it's very cool!

I love Matryoshka Man!

Here is another cool thing from blupaisan - for my blind sketch theme. This is where you draw something without looking at the paper at all. A very fun challenge!

This is a sketch of the newest addition to her household. Smiley So good! I probably could not keep track of where my pencil was, and I am very impressed.

I also thought y'all would appreciate this awesome birthday card she made for me! Cheesy

Here's another wonderful card to add to my collection! From kosmicgirl, on my Chimera theme:

Just stunning!! She says he's part tiger, part llama, and part squirrel. And that he's a treetop hunter! I believe it!

She also included an extra birthday ATC for me as a surprise, and a pretty postcard. Cheesy

Thank you kosmicgirl, you rule!

I got this superb birch tree theme card from blupaisan today!

The leaves are goldenrod, and the tree itself (and moon and ground) are all real birch bark, that blu found in her mom's art box (vintage 1968). Wowee! Thanks blu!

I received today from Wizards_Pupil! Check out the cool stuff she made me!

A pair of hoops to hang on my wall:

The weeping angel she modeled after da Vinci's Vitruvian man. I love the tinting, and the background fabric that makes it look like it's in a garden.

The TARDIS is her own pattern!

This is a photograph that she took with a film camera, and developed. It's an angel statue at her local church, and the photo is titled "Sublime." So lovely!

And some (wibbly-wobbly, timey-wimey) packing fluff Smiley

Thanks again for my goodies, Wizards_Pupil, and for organizing this wonderful swap.  Kiss
