1  IMAGE REPRODUCTION TECHNIQUES / Stenciling: Completed Projects / Candy corn....Yummy! on: October 30, 2008 02:16:37 AM
So I'm addicted to freezer paper stenciling, and Halloween is around the corner, so I'm using it as an excuse to make another freezer stencil shirt for my daughter.  Grin At first I had no ideas, and then I came across these cute plushies made by MochiMart. Here's the link for the pic. https://www.craftster.org/forum/index.php?topic=269182.0

They were so freaking cute that it inspired me to make.....Ta da!

And here are a few action shots. Sorry for the poor lighting. They were quite hard to get because it was already the end of the day and she was getting a little cranky so these were the best I could get.

Thanks for looking!
2  COOKING / Dessert / Car cakes on: August 18, 2008 01:25:42 PM
Okay, so I'm not a pro at decorating cakes, but I recently started baking and learning how to pipe. And my dear husband bought me this cool decorating kit by Martha Stewart for Mother's Day so I've been decorating like crazy.

Well, it was my nephew's birthday this weekend, so my sister asked me to make a cake for him with a possible car theme. So ideas start swirling in my head and this is what I came up with:

This is the first "big" cake I've made (and my first post), and was quite pleased with the results.  Grin Sorry the pictures are kind of dark, my camera isn't all that great.

Here's a close up of the first tier with the cars. I made the road out of crushed up vanilla wafer cookies.

And here is a close up of the Jello waterfall.  Smiley I wanted to add water somehow and Jello came to mind. I wasn't even sure how this part was going to turn out, but it seemed to work out.

My nephew blowing out the candles. He thought it was pretty cool.

Thanks for looking! Comments/criticism welcomed!
