1  KNITTING / Knitting: Discussion and Questions / Missoni-like patterns? on: July 12, 2009 04:35:01 PM
I love Missoni's stuff! They're all amazing works of knitted art. But they're a little out of my price range. I have been trying to look for patterns that look a lot like a real Missoni, but I haven't had any luck. Does anyone know of any?  I particularly love this skirt http://www.net-a-porter.com/product/22808?cm_mmc=LinkshareUS-_-Custom-_-Link-_-Builder&siteID=Hy3bqNL2jtQ-z1cO0Jg5_urio2xwhq9qbw, and I think I'm going to attempt to make it. I have been looking for some really beautiful knitting stitches that would work for it, but I am having a hard time finding anything that resembles the green scalloped row, the pale pink row, or the white/purple rows. Any suggestions?
2  KNITTING / Knitting: Completed Projects / Three-piece tote bag set on: August 29, 2008 01:18:39 PM
This is the first project I've posted (and the only one I've finished recently). It was all part of a knitting kit I got. This is only the second knitting project I've done, and my first attempt at purling. Because of my lack of experience, I really messed the pattern up sometimes. I would literally tear out and redo the same row eight times, then stash it in the closet out of frustration, only to come across it months later. LOL. Finally, I finished it, a year later! I'm quite proud of it. I gave this one away, but I'm thinking of making another one in cornflower blue/dark brown/gray.

It's a three piece set: tote bag, eyeglass case, and makeup bag. Sorry I don't have a close-up picture.

3  REUSING/RECYCLING/RECRAFTING / What the heck can I do with THIS? / Starburst/Skittle Wrappers on: July 18, 2008 04:15:51 PM
I have a growing collection of Skittles and Starburst wrappers (favorite candies). I like the colors of the wrappers, and I know there's got to be something cute I can do with them, but I'm not super creative. Any ideas?
