1  JEWELRY AND TRINKETS / Trinkets and Jewelry: Completed Projects: Reconstructed / Newest Stuff (lots o' pics) on: March 16, 2009 10:50:08 AM
Wow. I've been neglecting Craftster lately...=/
But....I have a TON of pictures of all my new recon'd jewelry, so....without further ado...the stuff!!
First, a vintage reconstructed bracelet: I basically just restored the bracelet and added the cool bow clasp thing:

OK, next: Some reconstructed beaded bracelets: (The smalller one is a kids' bracelet):

Um...next are some memory wire bracelets I made with some more beads mostly from old jewelry pieces, etc.:

And my favorite, the purple and white one, all by itself:

Next, a charm bracelet with just random buttons, charms, etc. on:

Next- Rings!!
All together:

Just the button rings:

The other ones (from left, little shoes, rubber ducky, flower (from an earring) and wings (also from an earring):

AND NOW! My earring board:

And some close-ups:

Black beads and wire:

Orange beads and cowrie shells:

Toothpaste and floss and brown buttons:

Little loops and punctuation:

Peace signs and Leaves:

Peace Signs (again, because they looked kind of strange in the first picture, I think) and garden tools:

Swirly with purple beads (sorry for the crappy quality):

Retro green hoops:

Yay. OK, necklaces (and that's it, I promise Smiley)

First, pie necklace. This is so simple, but I love it because:

Next, Across the Universe necklace. Not altogether sure if I like it...what do y'all think?

OK next- decoupaged lady necklace:

And...AWESOME junk necklace- with random things- beads, charms, bells, awesome stuff. I ♥ this necklace. Do you?

NEXT-Bottlecap necklace-pretty simple, but I love it:

Punctuation necklace (goes with the earrings):

Glass rings on ribbon necklace:

And Steampunk-y necklace:

Wow. That's it. Thanks for putting up with the crazy long post and all the pictures. PLEASE tell me what you think! I ♥ comments!!!

2  CLOTHING / Clothing: Completed Projects: Reconstructed / Zebra Print and Red Lace on: November 20, 2008 01:06:17 PM
So I haven't posted in a while...classes  Angry ugh...but anyway...
I bought this skirt at the thrift store for like a dollar....of course I didn't take a picture of it  Grin
but it fell at about my mid calf...but I'm 5 feet tall....
anyways, it was kind of tiered and zebra print (!I LOVE ZEBRA PRINT!) and had sequins all over it! It was awesomeness =)

But of course, kind of ugly as it was....so, I made it into a dress with red lace and red ribbon lacing on the back:

front close up:

close up of halter part:

YAY! So I'm pretty pleased with it-how about y'all?
I love comments!!! so...tell me what you think!!!
3  JEWELRY AND TRINKETS / Trinkets and Jewelry: Discussion and Questions / Buffy themed earrings on: October 17, 2008 10:42:15 AM
Hi! So, I want to make Buffy the Vampire Slayer themed earrings for my friend for Christmas. I thought I would make charms out of polymer clay and attach them to little chains, then hang them from ear wire things.
So...what charms should I make? I thought of stakes, of course, and crosses...but I really want to have at least 3 things...
My boyfriend suggested garlic, but it is really barely mentioned in Buffy, I want these earrings to be really obviously "buffy-y" (my friend is OBSESSED Grin)
so...any ideas?? They could also have things having to do with Angel too, she likes that series as well.
Anyways, thanks!!!!
4  New York / New York: North / Wearable Art Fair in Canton on: October 17, 2008 10:26:33 AM
So...I'm organizing a Wearable Art Fair in Canton (way, way, way upstate  Grin) on December 6th, from 9 to 4.
If anyone is interested in selling, please PM me!!
5  CLOTHING / Clothing: Completed Projects: Reconstructed / Umbrella Skirt 2!!! on: October 15, 2008 11:19:35 AM
So...I got LOTS of awesome comments on my first umbrella skirt: https://www.craftster.org/forum/index.php?topic=263260.0

So I thought I'd post my second attempt here too:

So...I tried to make this one more wearable than the original...I made the waistband out of a pair of pants I had laying around in my stash...made it thicker than the typical waistband...then added the tab detail...that was on the pants originally...
then...the umbrella for the skirt part...it was a cuter print than the original, I think...
Anyway, here's a close up of the print:

the edges (I left on the little metal thingies):

and on my dressform (it doesn't fit quite right, so I had to pin it, that's why there's that huge wrinkle, it isn't usually there):

I like the way it turned out, what do y'all think?
6  CLOTHING / Clothing: Completed Projects: Reconstructed / Cherries and Flamenco Dancers on: October 13, 2008 03:38:20 PM
So...I painted on a couple shirts, nothing incredibly special, but I'm proud.

sorry for the blurriness

close up of design:

AND Flamenco Dancers!!
I thought these were kind of cool-I'll probably recon the shirt further, I'm thinking a boat neckline thing.

OK, now that I'm looking at the picture, these dancers are right on the boob areas =)
That was NOT intentional  Tongue
oh well
Anyways, tell me what y'all think!!!!! thanks =)
7  CLOTHING / Clothing: Completed Projects: Reconstructed / weird little skirt thing on: October 13, 2008 03:34:02 PM
So...little story here. I was at the thrift store (where I can often be found  Tongue) and I saw these pants. They were pink, white, lime green, and red stripes. I was all, I MUST BUY THESE!!!! So. I did. And they sat in my studio for months and months while I tried to figure out what to do with them....anyway, here's a picture of the pants pre-FrankenClothes-ing:
The only pic I have of them as pants is modeled by my friend Ellie, who was being a bit strange =)

modeled by the lovely Vivian:

So, I'm not sure exactly what it is...It's a skirt but you can't wear it by itself or it would be a little revealing...But anyways, I'd really love some opinions on it.
8  CLOTHING / Clothing: Completed Projects: Reconstructed / aagh! AWESOMENESS! whoa.... on: September 26, 2008 04:41:52 PM

yay! So that's the short version aka here's a cute dress...this is the long version:

OK, so my mom gave me a bunch of old clothes, including the slip she wore with her wedding dress. so...here it is before I started chopping it up...sorry, the pictures are kind of crappy because I had to use my webcam, but you get the idea:

Anyways...chop chop snip snip sew...grommets! yay! I just got a grommet tool and I LOVE it!!!!!
so...here's the finished product, I must say I am really pleased with it, it turned out WAY better than I was expecting...so:

and there was a tiny hole which I covered with a bow! and a little rosebud:

and of course, Mr. Handsome had to help...

so anyways, I like it-I think I'll wear it with leggings or with jeans...it's shorter than I expected, but also way cuter, so it's good.
Tell me what you think!!!!!!

9  Halloween / Halloween Costumes / Girly Captain Hammer on: September 16, 2008 09:30:39 AM
so...my boyfriend wants to be dr. horrible for halloween, and he wanted me to be penny, but she is really kind of boring and wears just...plain clothes...I'm so not a penny =) I'm more of a captain hammer  Tongue so I decided to be him for halloween instead (if you have no idea what I'm talking about, you should watch Dr. Horrible!! It's awesome!!!) But anyways, I wanted to girl-ify the captain hammer costume, so...my first step was to make a cargo skirt...because he always wears cargo pants...anyway, here's what I came up with:

here are the pants before:

the back:

so...Captain Hammer's pants are dark brown/blackish, so I'm going to attempt to dye this skirt, I'll post pics of the result...anyway, on to the shirt!
I had this black t shirt, so I basically just painted the captain hammer logo on it, which looks like this by the way:

so...here's my shirt:

close up of image:

and...um...oh! Here's the whole thing...I'm also wearing motorcycle boots but you can't really see them...

^excuse the strange facial expressions

and this is the actual captain hammer (nathan fillion) so...you can compare =) I still need to get giant gloves though  Grin

anyway...sorry for the looong and rambly post and all the pictures...hope you like it...tell me what you think!
10  CLOTHING / Clothing: Completed Projects: Reconstructed / Umbrella Skirt (yes, made from a real umbrella) NOW WITH TUTE ON PAGE 4!!! on: August 14, 2008 09:10:21 AM
so...this skirt is made from an umbrella..it's pretty self explanatory...I took the nylon stuff off the umbrella and cut it to the length I wanted...then made a waistband out of some red fabric...anyway..pictures!

me attempting to spin:

close up of the back, I left the little velcro tab thing on:

I forgot to take a before pic, but this is basically what it looked like:

so...I like it, I don't know that I'll really wear it a lot, but we'll see.
anyway...tell me what you think of it!!!!
