421  Re: 50 Projects 2014--Let's continue the craftiness! in Craftalongs by lindyv321 on: May 20, 2014 09:15:36 AM
I am loving all the new posts!  I love seeing everything and am so inspired by all my fellow Craftsters!  I finally get to post some projects since two swap packages were received yesterday.  Sorry for my photo dump!

First up the things I made in the Random Swap
A hoopla that is a mash up of Doctor Who and Harry Potter.  It says "After all this time?" "Always" in Gallifreyan.  Well that is what it's supposed to say.  Since I don't speak or read Gallifreyan I have to trust the interpretation!

Another mash up, this time it's Harry Potter and The Hunger Games

A Doctor Who shirt

A Doctor Who key fob

A beaded wrap bracelet

A little shrine.  The front:

The back:

A beaded sun catcher

Goonies Pendant she had pinned

Chevron Pendant

And finally a a framed owl.  It's hard to make out but there is embroidery done on the owl etc.

Then in the Ongoing Wish Swap I made two stenciled shirts.  One was another Doctor Who one like the one posted above and the second is a bee

So I just happened to receive the most amazing package from sheepBlue yesterday.  She claimed me for a hoop and some TM patches.

This hoop is just gorgeous!  I can't even think how long it took to do all this bead work..

And the start of my TM collection!  Now that I have some of my own to examine it may motivate me to try my hand at a few.

We also did a personal swap which she sent in the same box and you can go check out the goodies here if you want.

Thank you SOOOO much!  I just adore everything.

After a rather long day yesterday Marty and I decided we deserved a glass of wine after dinner.  I made him use the wine sippy cup though...

426  Going for the Gold in Trinkets and Jewelry: Completed Projects: General by lindyv321 on: May 12, 2014 10:26:48 AM
I do not wear gold tone jewelry.  Haven't in more years than I can remember.  I have a lot of jewelry and the closest I get to gold is some bronze things and even those are few and far between.  Imagine my surprise when on Christmas morning the gift my daughter got me with her own money was a little gold pendant.  She was so proud of this gift.  Of course I loved the thought behind it and have worn it a few times but I never had any earrings or a bracelet to wear with it.  I decided I needed something so I bought some gold tone supplies and went for it.  Here is what I came up with.

Bracelet using beads and jump rings threaded onto memory wire.

These awesome stones just happened to be on clearance so I snagged them to make my earrings.

I have come to realize that maybe I am not alone in the gold vs silver thing because there were literally NO gold tone charms to be found.  Tons of silver and nickel but not much gold.

427  Re: Hoopla A-Long 2013-2014 in Needlework: Stitchalongs by lindyv321 on: May 12, 2014 09:23:11 AM
My May hoop is done but since I am going to include it in a swap package I am going to wait to post the photos until after it's received.

The hoop I made has been received!  I geek out about a lot of things but I really love Harry Potter and have recently fallen in love with Doctor Who.  My partner in the random swap just happens to like both of these too so I decided to make this hoop for her.  It's a mash up of Harry Potter and Doctor Who...

The random circles are actually Circular Gallifreyan and is a standardized version of the written Gallifreyan language as seen in Doctor Who.  It says After all this time?  Always which is a pretty important quote from Harry Potter.

428  Re: Craftster vs. Pin Craftalong in Craftalongs by lindyv321 on: May 12, 2014 09:00:44 AM
Life has been crazy for me for the past year and I have really missed trying out new recipes like I used to.  I was determined to try something new this weekend and I did!  I tried this recipe for baked chicken fajita's and then used the chicken to make quesadilla's.  It was a hit!  I would say this is probably the first chicken fajita recipe I have tried where they actually taste like what you would get from a restaurant.  Super easy and very recommended.

Love all the new project that have been posted!  I pinned the Hatter hoop and really like those bracelet/weights.

I made a ton of stuff over the weekend including some (gasp) gold tone jewelry for myself.  Everything else is for swaps so I can't post yet..

430  Re: Friend of Craftster Raffle Round 12 (FOCR12) in ARCHIVE OF SWAPS THAT ARE TOTALLY FINISHED by lindyv321 on: May 09, 2014 08:58:39 AM
I had a hoopla almost finished for the last round but couldn't get it done in time to join in.  I feel like embroidery is my strongest craft and right now I just happen to have a hoop that I did for the Ongoing Hoopla along that has just been sitting around.  So would anyone be interested in this hoop??

If so I will join up!
