Marty went on a day trip up north to Payson, AZ yesterday.  It was nice to get out of the hot weather for a while!  Here he is in his almost natural habitat... not sure how many moose we have in the wild in Arizona...He might be the first!

Editing my post/photos since there is a rather large skeleton hand in the previous photo flipping you all off  Tongue

Here are the photos of the cube cat and necklace we received from luckdragon

I love the hexie kit and would love one too!  May motivate me to work on my hexie project that has been sitting!

I also am going to add pillowcases to my wishlist!

385  Sweet Cuppycake in Needlework: Completed Projects by lindyv321 on: July 09, 2014 09:20:40 AM

I made this hoop for the Ongoing Hoopla Along.  The July theme was food and who doesn't love cupcakes?  I bought the cupcake pattern pack from Kimberly Ouimet on Etsy.  I love her patterns because she has all kinds of designs that you can play with to come up with your own original piece.  For this one I used the cupcake in the square then added the hearts.  I used a back stitch, lazy daisy, and some french knots in the hoop.  Now to find a space for it on my Hoopla Wall or pass it on to my daughter to hang in her room...

Lovely weaving.  I love the colors.

I finished my July offering for the Ongoing Hoopla Along.  This months theme was food.

I bought the cupcake pattern pack from Kimberly Ouimet on Etsy.

I also made these bacon pancakes that I have seen all over Pinterest for my kids this morning.  I didn't eat any but the kids liked them.

I finished my July hoop in record time!  I bought the cupcake pattern pack from Kimberly Ouimet on Etsy.

I combined two designs to come up with this sweet hoop.

389  Kumhimo Braided Bracelets in Trinkets and Jewelry: Completed Projects: General by lindyv321 on: July 02, 2014 12:42:58 PM
I have been wanting to try Kumihimo braiding for a very long time and bought a bunch of supplies about a year ago.  I kept putting it off though since it looks rather complicated.  I finally decided I was going to give it a try and watched some very helpful YouTube videos then gave it a go.  There are a ton of different braids to do but since I am a beginner I have only done the basic 8 strand.  This is my first 8 strand braid using beads.

The first one I made though was using satin cord.  If you are going to give this a try start with one of these.  It helps you to get the braiding down and you can really see what you are doing.

I have a book that details how to do sashiko and I would love to try it sometime....

Here is my first beaded Kumihimo braid.  I should have made it a bit longer but I was able to work it out so it still fits.

I am going to do a few more of these then next I want to try a 12 strand spiral braid like this one from The Beautiful Life @BeadFX

I also need to purchase more size 6 seed beads and some of the large eye collapsible needles, or add them to my future Ongoing Wish lists!
