11  CLOTHING / Costumes: Completed Projects / Neil Armstrong for a "living wax museum" on: May 14, 2009 01:10:30 PM
My son decided to be Neil Armstrong for his class's history project, a "living wax museum."

Wearing his helmet:

Helmet off, showing off his air tanks:

The helmet is hubby's full-face motorcycle helmet; the suit is made from paper painter's coveralls, duct tape, and color images printed onto index cards; and the air tanks are 2-liter soda bottles, cardboard, and more duct tape.

Love the neckline, and if you're anything like me, the straps will keep you from having to constantly fight a tug-of-war battle with gravity.  Great idea!

It is adorable.  If you want to do anything at all with it, maybe just a couple of buttons down the center waistband, which would jazz it up a bit without ruining the adaptability of it?
