21  HOME SWEET HOME / Crafty Housewares: Completed Projects: General / Smooching Mickey and Minnie Mug Cozy on: March 07, 2017 09:11:18 AM
This was made for a friend who loves Disney. I also made one like this but the cozy part is pink for Aisy for the Warm and Cozy swap.

The one for Aisy.
22  HOME SWEET HOME / Crafty Housewares: Completed Projects: Reconstructed / Honey Jug to Planter on: March 07, 2017 08:56:22 AM
A friend of mine gave me a bunch of primroses but I didn't have enough pots to plant them in. I did however, have a plastic honey jug left over. We use A LOT of honey in our cooking/coffee/baking so we buy it in bulk.

I also have a lot of washi tape just waiting to be used.

I cut the jug and decorated it with washi tape.

I put a sealant on the planter so if it got wet, the tape will stay. I also sanded the top, so no jagged edges.

Now I want to make more of these for the backyard and front porch.
23  HOME SWEET HOME / Crafty Housewares: Completed Projects: General / Mickey, Minnie and a Sweet Blue Bird Mug Cozies on: March 06, 2017 03:13:50 PM
I wasn't sure where to put these, then I thought, "Well, you would use them for mugs...mugs are in your house..." So there ya go!  Anyhoo, a friend on mine on FB saw another mug cozy I did and asked me to make a few for her. She loves Mickey and Minnie Mouse. I did the little blue bird as an extra.

Everything is cut using felt with small little details stitched (eye lashes, nose, branch)

I need to clean up the edge around Mickey and then they are heading off to their new home.

25  MISCELLANEOUS TOPICS / Completed Projects / Craftster Quickies: Floating Tea Cups on: February 28, 2017 10:51:23 AM

These tea cups were SO much fun to make.   You could use them for any theme or holiday. I am thinking I need an Alice in Wonderland or Halloween.

Check out the video on how I made them and don't forget to post your tea cup when you make one!

26  NEEDLEWORK / Needlework: Completed Projects / Heart in Your Hand Embroidery on: February 27, 2017 08:19:52 AM
I needed a break from all the crappy stuff out there lately so I decided to binge watch Ash vs. Evil Dead and stitch this up. I love this image so much. It is so haunting and beautiful.

27  OCCASIONS AND HOLIDAYS / Valentine's Day / Craftster Quickies: Heart Bubble Bath Bars on: February 06, 2017 02:23:17 PM

Valentine's Day is just around the corner. Time to show that special someone that you love them with Heart Bubble Bath Bars. While it may seem like there is a lot of ingredients, it goes along way. You can make a bunch of these hearts and add your own personal message.

Check out the video and make your own~

Just an FYI. The bars can be broken into several pieces at once. One bar lasted me about 6 baths. Also, place them directly under running water to get the full effect. The scented oils I used was Rose Jam (Lush dupe) and Blonde Moment (raspberry and citrus cake scent).

The ingredients are:
1 cup SLSA (this gives the bars bubbles)
1 cup baking soda
1/3 cup cream of tartar
1/3 cup corn starch
1/3 cup glycerin
1 tablespoon argan oil (if you don't have argan oil, then you can use olive or almond oil)
1 tablespoon water
drops of scented oil (I used bath specific oil, but you can use essential oil, just be aware of the affects on the skin)
soap grade food coloring

Optional supplies:
a paper mask (the SLSA is super dusty!)
28  NEEDLEWORK / Needlework: Completed Projects / You Have A Booger Hankie on: February 04, 2017 03:26:28 PM
I stitched these up for a few friends for Valentine's Day. The hankies are vintage and a little difficult to stitch on. I think I need to make some more.

You Have A Booger

I really love the Ongoing Wish Swaps. They are a quick way to spread some love and do some quick crafting. I stitched up this  tea towel.
