343  Featured Projects: Valentines for the Kiddos in Valentine's Day by kittykill on: January 25, 2014 10:01:18 AM
How many times has this happen to you....the night before Valentines and little Susie comes up and tells you she needs 30 handmade Valentines for her class. ACCCKKKKK! Okay, you had time to freak out, now it's time to get your craft on and make up some sweet treats for the little ones. Don't forget to get Susie to help in the fun!

Small simple valentine bouquets can be made with candy or with non sweet treats, maybe things like erasers or stickers.

Felt heart notebooks and pencils are cheap and quick to put together.

Don't have time to make anything, Let SpookyPooky take care of it for you with her adorable valentines. Just print and cut out. If you are feeling extra generous, add a little treat.

Don't forget to check out the Valentine Board for inspiration!

BananaAmbush is so talented! I just love her bee stumpwork.

Could this be any cuter? ActsofCraftiness' stitching is so great.

MrsBowles' stitching is so clever!

whateverjames' cross stitch piece is brilliant!

I think I want to be Ludi when I grow up.

Check out these and other amazing projects on the Completed Project Needlework Board.

I received the most beautiful necklace from Lindyv321. I was going to try to take an action shot but I couldn't get a good one. She even made earrings to match!

Thank you so much! It is just beautiful!

348  Heart Pound Cake, First Attempt in Dessert by kittykill on: January 17, 2014 04:49:41 PM
So, I wanted to try to bake a cake within a cake and thought I would start with an easy one. I saw this technique on Pinterest and gave it a try.

Basically, I baked two pound cakes. The first one, with food coloring, and then cut out the hearts with a cookie cutter.

The main cake, I layered the bottom with the rest of the batter, then stacked the hearts in, the put the rest of the batter over the top.

I like the way it turned out for my first attempt. Next time, I thing I might do something to stabilize the hearts or whatever I want to make a little bit better. The hearts moved a little bit so I need to pay closer attention to keeping them in the middle.

349  Crockpot Recipes and Tips in Recipes and Cooking Tips by kittykill on: January 16, 2014 08:15:44 AM

I LOVE my crockpot! I use it at least one time a week. I've cooked ribs, roast, steak tips and of course soups and chili. Do you have any tips or awesome recipes for the crockpot?

Has anyone tried to cook a cake in it? I'm so curious about all the pins that say you can do that.
