15  CROCHET / Crochet: Discussion and Questions / 3 in 2 Questions... crocheting an oval ?... chart crochet ? on: August 20, 2008 08:57:05 PM
Hi everyone,
I normally post on the needlework area but I'm interested in becoming a good crocheter Wink, so if someone can please help me out a little I will REALLY appreciate it !!!

1) How do you crochet an oval ? I mean.. after you do your chains and crochet on them when reaching the end of the chain, how do you make the curve of the oval and how do you crochet on the back of the chains ? Do I make sense ?  I try searching for a tutorial on Youtube but with no success   Cry Tongue

2) The crochet charts that forms designs when changing colors, is the whole chart or better said, ... Is every single little square on the graph representing only one stitch.. like for example the whole design will be make in single crochet ?

2b) Is it possible to follow a cross stitch chart the same way you follow a chart for crochet with the same results ?

You can really tell I'm thirsty for knowledge here...  Wink.

Thanks !!!

16  NEEDLEWORK / Needlework: Completed Projects / Mushroom Cottage (traveling on the Tea Towel Tour 4 soon !) on: August 17, 2008 08:32:19 AM
I'm so excited about the TTT 4, is going to be my 1st swap. I can wait to share what I embroidered on my towel before it goes on the Tour  Wink.

I took the pictures just after spraying it with water to remove the water erasable pen marks, (couldn't wait until it dried  Roll Eyes )

So here it is,

18  NEEDLEWORK / Needlework: Completed Projects / Tea Towels...Ukelele with Lei and Hibiscus (Hawaiian) on: June 24, 2008 08:00:50 PM
I made this tea towels for a wedding anniversary gift, hope she likes them.
The Ukelele is my favorite with the Lei hanging from it. The Hibiscus ...well I think I messed up a little on the stitches in the center of the flower.

19  NEEDLEWORK / Needlework: Completed Projects / Free Style Embroidery Needlebook on: June 24, 2008 07:56:07 PM
I made this needlebook from a pattern in Sew Pretty Homestyle book but
the embroidery is free style by me  Wink .

This is how it looks inside:

I intended to make the outside of the needlebook in the pink gingham fabric but I ended up messing it up when ironing the stiffening material so I ended up cutting my birdhouse and applique it to the linen fabric.
