Wow it has been a long time since I posted on Craftster! This is my first post to the children's clothing board, but it will not be my last. As some of you may know, my bestie, AlwaysInspired is expecting her first baby - a girl - in May.
What is a crafty friend to do but learn to sew baby clothes.
These 3 outfits were created using newborn size free patterns from the web.
First is my favorite, the Infant Peasant Dress new free pattern from Sew Much Ado http://www.sew-much-ado.com/2012/01/infant-peasant-dress-free-pattern-and.html
The fabric is by Prints Charming. The trim is the cutest teeny wee pompom trim. Ruffled socks are store bought.
Second is my rocker-baby version of the Itty Bitty Baby Dress from Made By Rae http://www.made-by-rae.com/2008/04/free-itty-bitty-baby-dress-pattern/ I omitted the piping (didn't have any). and added a fun red apron front. The pants are the Basic Baby Pant from Make Baby Stuff http://www.make-baby-stuff.com/baby-pants-baby-pattern.html Fabrics are from Michael Miller.
The last one for the day is this fun mod dress and bloomer set, from the Owl Baby Dress by Sew Can Do http://sewcando.blogspot.com/2009/10/little-owl-dress-pattern-is-here.html I fell in love with the fabric immediately. Trust me - this one is much more fun in person! I have not yet sewn on that button, but it is decorative. The actual neckline closes with either velcro or a snap - I have not decided yet.
I can't wait to sew more baby clothes! I have already bought a couple of adorable patterns from an Etsy seller, and a bunch of fabric to play with!
